CNN Names Top Apres Ski Hotels

(CNN)It doesn't matter if you're taking on double black diamond trails, gliding cross country through the woods, or staring at the bunny slope with a sense of doom, you can embrace après ski life.Much like the 19th hole in golf, après ski is a chance to reward oneself after a busy day of relaxation. It might involve meeting friends for a beer, it might mean a couple’s massage at a Swiss-style spa, or it could just be going out for dinner to see what bison tastes like, but it's definitely a time meant to be enjoyed.
With winter approaching quickly (and already here in some areas), put together the most popular 4- and 5-star ski destination hotels and resorts in the United States.
Whether it's a spa treatment or a drink by the fire, here's Kayak's list of the perfect places to sit back, kick up your feet or plaster cast, and unwind.

April 1, 2014 – MIDWAY, UT – Recent findings have identified the top five items meeting planners ask when booking large-scale group getaways. Topping the list are size and value, according to Zermatt and Homestead Resorts, two premier resorts in Utah.

How big of a meeting space do I need?
“The size of space is often the first question meeting planners ask when researching large-scale conference center resorts,” said Debbie Batt, director of sales and marketing at Zermatt and Homestead Resorts, Midway, Utah. “With our resorts across the road from each other, we accommodate large to small groups and thousands of guests enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor options, restaurants and conference rooms. Zermatt and Homestead Resorts offer a combined meeting space of more than 50,000 sq. ft., making it the largest in the state.”

How can I ensure I am getting the best value for what I pay?
“Many meeting planners inquire about parking, internet and resort fees,” Batt said. “This varies from resort to resort, so asking directly is always recommended.”

At Zermatt and Homestead Resorts, guests have no resort fee and always have free parking and internet.

“Currently, both conference center resorts are running our popular ‘Come See for Yourself’ promotion, where meeting planners and a guest enjoy complimentary accommodations for one night and their choice of an activity for two, including a Spa treatment, a soak in the Homestead Crater or a round of golf at Crater Springs at Homestead,” she said. “We are offering this promotion as we have seen our guests pleased and excited for their group meeting experience once they visit the resorts.”

What technology capabilities do you have?
“In today’s world, guests expect to have the latest technology, even at resorts where many want to get away from it all,” Batt said. “Zermatt and Homestead Resorts have high-end technology, as the Zermatt Resort and Conference Center in Midway, Utha, was built to International Association of Convention Center (IACC) standards, including built-in projectors, screens, and audio equipment, individual climate controls, and ergonomic chairs.

What are my options for food and beverage?
“Our professional conference service team is able to create unique food and beverage options for any budget and any size group,” Batt said. “Our four resort restaurants, Z's Steak & Chop Haus, Matty's Bistro, Z’s Bakery at Zermatt , Simon's Restaurant and Fanny's Grill, provide dining variety.”

What do you have for activities?
“Meeting planners want to know activity options,” Batt said. “Convention-goers need something recreational after meetings, so today’s resorts build a variety of options.”

Zermatt and Homestead resorts have acres of outdoor space utilized for corporate teambuilding events. The executive putting course and 18-hole Crater Springs Golf Course provide golf outings with Rocky Mountain scenery. Nearby Wasatch State Park and surrounding mountain trails allow for hiking, ATV excursions and mountain biking in the summer and snow-shoeing, snowmobiling and skiing in the winter. Zermatt Resort and Conference Center has a state-of-the-art spa and across the street on the grounds of Homestead one of a kind Homestead geothermal crater.
