Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
The Dongcheng District’s Wangfujing Street in dowtown Beijing is best known for its entertainment and shopping, food scene, thriving nightlife, and cultural experiences in a 700-year-old neighborhood. The area, marked by traditional Hutong homes, sets the scene for the upcoming Waldorf Astoria Beijing, slated to open in the first quarter of 2014. Mixing modernity and history, the hotel will establish a tranquil sanctuary just a stroll away from the formidable Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.
A dramatic copper building, the hotel creates a new landmark in heart of the Wangfujing district, blending rich Chinese tradition with today’s sophisticated affluent lifestyle. With its signature True Waldorf Service, the hotel will exemplify discreet personalized attention.
Groups gathered behind the glass and bronze exterior will have access to 117 rooms and 54 suites, plus Hutong Suites, which feature a separate entrance. At the Presidential Hutong, VIPs enjoy a private pool and wet area. A brasserie-style restaurant will be at hand, along with a Chinese restaurant with five private dining rooms, two bars, and a Waldorf Astoria® Spa with seven private suites. A business center and generous meeting spaces, including a ballroom and a special venue reminiscent of old Emperial China, promise events with all the efficiency, style, and dedicated service associated with today’s Waldorf Astoria hallmark all over the world.
