Villas of Grand Cypress Launches Redesigned Executive Meeting Center
Posted October 5, 2015
Four Star, Four Diamond Orlando resort completes update to multifunctional event complex, new banquet menus roll out
OLRANDO, FL (October 2015) – Villas of Grand Cypress, a member of the Personal Luxury Resorts & Hotels portfolio, today announced the redesign of its Executive Meeting Center, a standalone complex that houses 7,200 square-feet of flexible indoor/outdoor event space. Situated on the resort’s 1,500 acres in Orlando’s Lake Buena Vista neighborhood and framed by the Villas’ 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed golf, the Executive Meeting Center is the latest update to the Forbes Four Star, AAA Four Diamond-rated hotel, following the recent $17 million renovation to its 146 guest rooms.

“Villas of Grand Cypress has an incredible legacy as a leading choice in Orlando’s luxury hospitality market and our meeting and event services are no exception to that,” said Mark Cox, Villas of Grand Cypress general manager. “The redesign of this facility allows us to provide an enhanced space for social and business groups to gather, further building on what is already recognized as an outstanding guest experience.”

The new design of the Executive Meeting Center mirrors the Villas’ calming landscape, delivering a contemporary look inspired by the resort’s sense of place. Neutral color palettes and materials blend with authentic American Cherry wood to sync with the Villas’ tree lined roads, manicured golf greens, and strong architecture. Simple stone tile flooring in the Executive Meeting Center’s public areas is softened by private event spaces with custom carpets suggestive of shaded tree canopies and cool waters flowing over rocks. Crushed stone wall finishes bring unexpected sparkle and depth, while artwork and furnishings add a modern element.

The redesign also adds improved functionality to the Executive Meeting Center: LED lighting and sound systems managed by variable controls allow for personalized set-up; multiple power, phone, and data outlets incorporate another layer of convenience for AV and technology hookups.

Updated catering menus will be introduced this fall, as well. Conceptualized by the resort’s executive chef, Lonny Huot, the new menus will offer the Villas’ superior restaurant quality food in a group setting. Sustainable, local ingredients will be highlighted throughout, following suit with the property’s on-site dining outlets, including the Forbes Four Star-rated Nine18. Southeastern regional cuisine will mix with traditional global fare, prepared and presented using classical techniques with a modern twist.

The Design
Living areas throughout the new Club Suites and Villas are spacious, inviting and residential in style. Fine furniture in Italian and Mid-Century Modern styles includes American Leather sofa sleepers and club chairs. Pulling inspiration from the area's surroundings, custom-designed woven carpets from Axminister feature the magnified lines of topographic maps that evoke the natural landscape. Artwork includes eye-catching original bronze sculptures, custom chandeliers and expressionist designs. Select villas offer sleek dining room tables generously sized for ten and gas-lit fireplaces. Double plankbase moldings, doors and window casings are framed by natural American Walnut. Stylish beds with upholstered headboards illuminated by ambient bedside lighting are inviting with elegant bedding, plush pillows and 300-thread-count linens. Outdoors, guests can enjoy expansive private patios or decks overlooking the fairways or waterways of the North Course.

Five-piece bathrooms sparkle with rich Zebrano wood, natural Shabui stacked stone, crisp white porcelain, polished chrome and glistening clear glass. Freestanding glass encloses a walk-in shower equipped with a European shower tower featuring body jets, a hand held shower head, and a rain shower head. The bathrooms also showcase deep-walled bath tubs set upon stone platforms and custom quartz counters with double sinks topped with polished chrome Kohler faucets and illuminated mirrors integrated with a 19" television.
Rapport's contemporary, yet classic, vision is the perfect recipe for the Villa kitchens where top-of-the-line, stainless steel GE appliances share space with quartz countertops, stainless steel sinks and polished chrome fixtures. Walnut wood cabinets feature stainless steel hardware, while the floors are encrusted with porcelain tiles.
