Absolutely a beautiful property. The staff was very knowledgeable and courteous. I loved the fact that they kept in mind the guests likes and dislikes. One of the young ladies in the serving staff remembered that I said that I only drank tea; every time I sat down for a meal she would bring me a cup of tea. A small thing like this act goes a long way. The food was simply wonderful; fresh and delicious (with the exception of the squab). The transformation of the space for the evening events was magnificent. Knowing that most of the props came from the resorts stock makes a difference in a planners budget. Most of our members do golf, so having the golf course right there is also a benefit. There is ample meeting space, and plenty of space for evening events inside and out. And with 6 restaurants, your meeting guests should never be without delicious options for food. And do have a meal at the Lobby Lounge. The food is bite size, but three dishes for two people should be more than enough to fill you up. We ordered four dishes and could not finish all of the food ordered. The staff was very knowledgeable of pairing of wines with the bite size dishes.
If your meeting guests bring spouses and families, there is plenty to do on the property. Spa, Nature Wonders for the kids, pools and cabanas, beach, golf, and fitness. They should never be bored, and activities a planner would not have to add to their budget, or have to find to keep guests occupied.
The only thing that I was disappointed about and I know this has nothing to do with the Ritz is the transportation outside of the property. If you don't have a car and you miss the trolley (they should schedule the trolley to run later than it does), you pay a hefty fee in cab and private car rides. Me and a colleague wanted to go to Old Naples the last night there and we paid $80 in cab fare one way. I also paid $20 for a ride up the street to Walgreens. Had I known it was in walking distance, I would have put on my walking shoes and saved $20. Something small, but things like this do make a difference to our guests that like to venture offsite.
I went back to my job and gave nothing but rave reviews on the Ritz in Naples. I am hoping to return in the near future for one of my sections fall meetings.
