My site visit to this property occurred on a bright and sunny, but chilly April day. I parked the car and entered the lobby and was immediately greeted by the person working the front desk. After an easy check-in, I left my bag in a lovely room that overlooked the water and met my sales contact downstairs to begin the tour. I was thrilled with the spaciousness of the ballroom, and the fact that the floor to ceiling windows facing the cedar deck and water also had black-out drapes. Two projectors hang from the ceiling and the drop down screens in each room section offer the kind of turn-key service you would expect in a fully modern and contemporary resort.
The outdoor space is inviting and flexible. With a large portion of the space protected from the elements, groups can enjoy stepping outside for lunch, dinner, or receptions, and there is even a permanent bar outdoors. A few steps above the ground level I was excited to discover a plunge pool and two heated hot tubs.
Back inside there is a roomy and very welcoming bar tended by a well-trained bar keep who knows how to create whatever libation you desire and a lot of space for a group to mix and mingle before making their way into the restaurant for dinner. Chef outdid himself with the filet mignon I ordered. It was tempting, tasty, perfectly seasoned and arrived in front of me still sizzling. The desert menu included banana cream pie that deserved a blue ribbon both for presentation and its delectable taste.
But wait, there are suites that can be used for breakout rooms and wow, you really need to see them to believe how well the space is utilized. If you can imagine rooms that appeared ready for a photo shoot in Architecture Digest, then you're close to what I saw. Kitchenettes with the most up-to-date appliances, cabinetry, stocked with dishes and utensils begging to be used. Comfortable furniture, accessory pieces that did just that, accessorized with the setting and contributed to the balance of the overall effect. Whether you want to use these suites as upgrades for VIPs, or as breakout rooms for 10 to 15 people, the rooms deliver on all fronts.
My departure the next morning was gloomy and dreary as the predicted rain had moved in. But the charm of the property was still evident, with coffee service set up in the lobby. Too soon it was time to depart this lovely haven of luxury, comfort and efficiency. This is a property I will absolutely use with confidence.
