Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
The Oberoi, Mumbai welcomes visitors to India’s largest and wealthiest city in a vast atrium of white marble and windows framing the urban skyline and Arabian Sea. The location ensures the serenity of a seaside retreat but also easy access to the premier banks and businesses of Nariman Point—the Manhattan of Mumbai.
The hotel first opened in 1986, then again in 2010 after a 17-month, $US45 million renovation. Oberoi’s reborn flagship now features 287 accommodations instead of 330, and 81 suites instead of 26. Along with the lavish use of space came sleek new furnishings, the latest technology, and super-indulgent bathrooms. Guests can count on room service around the clock—and butler service within three minutes of the touch of a button, 24 hours a day.
Groups in town for business gather in 5,592 square feet of space for events, located at the neighboring sister property, the Trident, Nariman Point, Mumbai and accessed by covered walkway. The space includes the aptly named Regal Room and eight additional venues. When not dining in private, delegates can sample the best of world cuisine at Fenix, the best of Italian at Vetro, and the best of Indian at Ziya—under the direction of two-Michelin-starred Chef Vineet Bhatia. Those at leisure can also enjoy drinks and light meals at the Champagne Lounge and The Eau Bar, dips in the heated outdoor pool, workouts at the fitness center, and pampering at the only 24-hour spa in Mumbai.
