Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
The Oberoi, Gurgaon made quite a splash when it debuted on April 13, 2011—topped only by receiving the grand prize from World Travel Awards as the world’s leading luxury hotel six months later. Built at a cost of US$61 million, the hotel rests on the outskirts of New Delhi in the prosperous new business and industrial hub of Gurgaon. Its avant-garde design distills the theme of space, light, and height into nine acres of living green expanses, serene bodies of water, and minimalist steel and glass architecture.
Oversized windows bathe all 202 guest rooms and suites in natural light while taking in views of the central 36,000-square-foot reflection pool and manicured gardens. Even the smallest rooms measure over 620 square feet, and select suites come with private teakwood decks and full-length swimming pools. All provide exquisite appointments, the latest technology, and 24-hour access to room service, personal butlers, and chauffeurs to drive guests in one of the luxurious BMW 7 Series cars owned and managed by the hotel.
The meeting facilities take equal advantage of the surroundings and The Oberoi’s stratospheric standard of five-star service. Totaling 18,000 square feet, they hold 20 to 1,000 delegates in five conference rooms, five convention spaces, and two expansive venues for outdoor events. The hotel also features a luxury spa, fitness center, pool, piano bar, cigar lounge, and two epicurean restaurants specializing in world cuisine and Indian coastal delights in a fine dining atmosphere.
