Gleneden Beach, Ore. – April 25, 2016 - Salishan Spa & Golf Resort on the central Oregon coast is pleased to announce the completion of a $7 million facelift, which renovated and redecorated every guest room, restaurant, meeting room, and resort amenity on the property.
“We’re very excited to introduce the newly renovated resort to guests,” said Lindsey Youngren, Salishan’s Director of Sales and Marketing. “The renovation was conducted in the spirit of the resort’s founder, John Gray, in that we placed an emphasis on local materials and contractors, and sustainability is always at the forefront of everything we do.”
Salishan is one of the premiere business and group travel destination properties in the Pacific Northwest. Renowned Oregon developer and philanthropist John D. Gray built the historic 250-acre resort, which celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in 2015. The vision was a resort that would fit organically into its surroundings and provide a sanctuary for visitors. Generations of Oregonians have since visited Salishan for leisure and business, enjoying its links-style 18-hole golf course, world-class spa, indoor tennis facilities, and range of restaurants.
Crescent Hotels & Resorts, an operator of over 100 hotels in North America, assumed management of the property in 2014 and initiated the extensive remodeling project. The remodel was carried out over the course of eight months.
The remodeling project updated the private sitting balconies in all guest rooms, all of which have forest, golf course, or bay views. The spacious guest rooms have been re-designed with new linens, drapes, carpets and furniture made from local timber by Wood Castle in Albany, Oregon. All rooms feature gas fireplaces and expansive views, and some suites include whirlpool tubs and spacious sitting areas.
The resort’s four restaurants, including Grey’s Dining Room, The Sun Room, The Attic Lounge, and The Grille, have received makeovers as well, ranging from fixtures to menus. Executive Chef, Doug Kohn who recently joined the team, has been refreshing the offerings in all the resort’s restaurants, creating dishes using the finest regional ingredients, locally grown produce, fresh seafood, and prime steaks.
The spacious, lodge-like lobby has also been completely remodeled. Its signature fireplace and slate flooring greet guests with a warm welcome upon their arrival.
All of Salishan’s meeting rooms have been updated with new drapes, furniture, and custom-designed carpets incorporating the resort’s distinctive tree logo. The resort can accommodate intimate business dinners of eight to lavish weddings or corporate events of up to 275 people.
