Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
Located just 10 miles south of the tourist center of Washington, D.C., MGM National Harbor takes every advantage of its location near the nation’s capital. The Heritage Collection, for instance, encompasses diverse pieces of art inspired by the region and displayed in the resort’s public spaces. The décor at Blossom Cocktail Lounge recalls the beauty of the area’s famous cherry blossoms, while the menu at Fish by José Andrés showcases local seafood.
Groups get an even better sense of place at events held in the 16,200-square-foot MGM Grand Ballroom, which has floor-to-ceiling windows and a large outdoor terrace overlooking the Potomac River. The rest of the resort’s 50,000 square feet of event space is divided into a junior ballroom, smaller meeting rooms, two boardrooms, and a 3,000-seat theater that also hosts shows by artists such as John Legend, Jim Gaffigan, Bruno Mars, and Cher.
Headliner concerts are just one of the many entertainment options to keep attendees busy long after business is done. Other activities include treatments at the full-service spa; swimming in the seasonal outdoor pool; hitting the slots and tables at the casino; and shopping at boutiques such as MCM and SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker. Then, guests retreat to the modern design and amenities of the 308 accommodations.
For meals, attendees can dine alone or reserve a private room for their group at a wide variety of eateries, including Voltaggio Brothers Steak House, Ginger, and nine upscale casual spots at the National Market.
