Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
Opened December 18, 2007, at a cost of US$1.25 billion, the MGM Macau's tower stretches 35 stories into the sky above the former Portuguese colony of Macau, today a self-autonomous region of the People's Republic of China. While the shimmering glass of its wavilinear facade reflects the rolling swell of the South China Sea, the interiors evoke the peninsula's Portuguese heritage in such details as carved stone architraves, stained-glass windows, carved marble, forged ironwork, and spectacular mosaic floor patterns.
In essence a five-star urban casino resort, the MGM Macau features 269,000 square feet of gaming space on two levels; 600 guest rooms and suites; nine signature food and beverage outlets; a Six Senses Spa; and 15,630 square feet of meeting space—including a 9,000-square-foot ballroom for groups of up to 680 delegates.
