Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
Designed by architect Frank Gehry, the new, deconstructivist Hotel Marques de Riscal in Elciego, Spain captures the imagination in the same way as Gehry's other Basque landmark, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. Beneath the dramatic curved steel roof, the 43 modern guest rooms and suites feature flat-screen TV, spacious bath with separate shower, dual-line phones, CD player, and high-speed Internet access. Amenities include the Caudalie Spa, fitness center, indoor swimming pool, Marques de Riscal Restaurant, Bistro 1860, and a rooftop lounge and library.
For meetings with a post-modern twist, Hotel Marques de Riscal features seven venues, including a Wine Auditorium and the San Vincente Ballroom for business meetings and corporate events to 1,100. Elciego, a medieval village known as the City of Wine, features three golf courses and nearby Valdezcaray ski area.
