Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
Hoffman Haus offers business retreats and incentive winners an authentic taste of Texas Hill Country hospitality. With just 21 guest rooms, suites, and cottages, the three-acre property holds a collection of new and lovingly restored nineteenth-century buildings and guesthouses. Newcomers settle into a quiet neighborhood just a few steps from historic Main Street Fredericksburg. The town—founded by German settlers in 1846 and now brimming with biergartens, restaurants, museums, gift shops, and B&Bs—centers miles of rolling hills and wildflowers, wineries, and rambling country roads.
Guests check in at the Great Hall, which serves as the heart of Hoffman Haus. Flanked by a library, formal dining room, and kitchen, the former Kentucky tobacco barn, circa 1840, introduces the warmth and rustic simplicity seen throughout the property. Together with the Texas Garden outside, it provides a primary spot for gatherings.
Groups can also meet in and around the lodgings, which include The Quadrangle (four freestanding stucco cabins around a central fountain), the Basse House (a limestone dogtrot dating from 1871 and sleeping four), and The Farmhouse (dating from 1905 and sleeping four). Contemporary furniture mixed with country antiques take guests back in time, accompanied by all the technology and comforts of the twenty-first century. Hoffman Haus furnishes Wi-Fi, for instance, yet hand-delivers breakfast in a basket. It even offers a modern day spa—housed in a lovely old cottage, of course.
