Hilton Miami Downtown Announces a $1.7 Million Ballroom Renovation
Posted May 15, 2013
Property Expects the Ballroom Level to Be Completed by June 2013
“Hilton Miami Downtown already had the function space and layout that meeting planners
dreamt of but now with a renovated and redesigned conference level that dream is truly
realized,” said Laurence Richardson, director- sales & marketing, Hilton Miami Downtown.

Designed by URVANX, Hilton Miami Downtown will offer guests a cool but sophisticated
palette of silver, mother of pearl, and different shades of gray warmed by a punch of bronze
lends an urban vibe, while dramatic black and white marble cuts lead the guests towards the spacious pre-function area. Miami’s South Beach-based design and architectural firm
URVANX was given the challenge of creating the new face of the space.

The overall design of the ballrooms was influenced by Miami's sunshine reflecting in the
clear ocean water and the diversity of the city's cultural emotions and contributions. All the
spaces were transformed with custom designed carpet and gray oakwood portals that frame the entrances to each of the ballroom spaces and meeting rooms. Electronic displays, strategically placed will provide the necessary information to hostess and our guests. In the pre-function area, the metallic bronze color drapes provide a welcome feeling and the columns clad in rectangular gray oakwood panels, supporting the space, makes it feel like everything is perfectly set for a magnificent event.

The custom carpet design was inspired by the Ocean (pre-function area), the City
(Symphony ballroom) and the cultural links (meeting rooms) that brings us together when we gather for the International, National and local events.

Hilton Miami Downtown Makes The Elite List

Best Boardrooms In the South
GULF SHORES, Ala.—ConventionSouth, the national multimedia resource for planning events that are held within the South, has selected Hilton Miami Downtown for their 2013 Editor’s Hot Picks of the Best Boardrooms in the South. After an in-depth review of boardrooms located within hotels and meeting facilities across the South, the editors of ConventionSouth have deemed Hilton Miami Downtown to have one of the best for groups gathering at the facility.

“It is with great honor to recognize Hilton Miami Downtown for its stunning boardroom with top-notch amenities that are highly sought after by meeting planners and their VIP attendees who will be gathering within the boardroom,” said ConventionSouth Associate Publisher Marlane Bundock.

Hilton Miami Downtown and its boardroom will be featured on www.ConventionSouth.com as part of the April 2013 Issue of ConventionSouth magazine. “The April Issue of ConventionSouth is focused on Corporate Meetings, so this is a perfect platform to showcase our Editor’s Hot Picks for Best Boardrooms as corporate meeting planners
especially seek executive boardrooms for their meetings and conventions.” A selection of the boardrooms will also be mentioned within the printed edition of ConventionSouth’s April Issue.

In February 2013, ConventionSouth put out the call for nominations for hotel and meeting facility boardrooms across the South. On March 15, editors reviewed the dozens of nominated boardrooms and judged each of them based on several factors, including:
- aesthetics, decor, lighting and views,
- presentation and conferencing technology, audio/visual and Internet capabilities,
- food and beverage capabilities,
- ergonomics and comfort, and
- privacy and security.

Based on the criteria noted above, it is clear that Hilton Miami Downtown is able to meet the demands of today’s meeting planners and groups who seek top-notch executive boardrooms for their meetings, Bundock added.

Celebrating 30 years as a leading meeting planning resource, ConventionSouth magazine is based in Gulf Shores, Ala., and is circulated to more than 18,000 meeting professionals located across the country who book meetings held within the South, according to Bundock.
