Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
Manhattan's Gramercy Park Hotel first opened in 1925 on the spot where architect Stanford White's home once stood and, before that, the townhouse where Edith Wharton was born. Humphrey Bogart married at the hotel, S.J. Perelman lived there, and Babe Ruth liked to drink at its famous bar.
Beloved by generations of artists, writers, and rock-'n'-roll royalty, the hotel retains its bohemian charm thanks to a twenty-first-century transformation that stressed artful anarchy in everything from its custom furniture to its paintings by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Fernando Botero, Julian Schnabel, and others. The hotel offers a Roman-style trattoria, 185 accommodations, and a wide choice of event spaces, including the Park Room for up to 120, Gramercy Terrace for up to 200, Jade and Rose Bars, the penthouse, and six extraordinary suites.
