Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
Focused on guests' well-being, Golden Door offers a Zen-inspired nirvana for a restorative incentive experience. Located in San Marcos, California, just north of San Diego, the resort immerses guests in the tranquillity of its 377-acre setting of rolling hills.
The ancient
honjin inns of Japan inspired Golden Door's architectural design, which includes 40 guest quarters clustered around garden courtyards. Camellia bushes, koi ponds, sand gardens, and antique Japanese art dot the grounds, aiming to please the eye and calm the soul. Golden Door's four-to-one ratio of staff to guests include specially trained personnel in everything from meditation to nutrition.
The typical wellness agenda for each seven-night stay includes sunrise hikes, fitness classes, inner-focus sessions, and educational lectures. Between activities (and included in the weekly fee), guests dine on three gourmet spa meals daily as they follow the path to health and personal growth.
