One of the elements that distinguishes Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort from other hotels in Los Cabos is its colonial-style architecture mimicking a 16th century Mexican Hacienda. Meeting Planners and guests alike are attracted to the Resort because it feels, well… authentic.
As you walk the beautiful 28 acres of the Resort, you feel emerged in a warm, tranquil village setting of the past. However every so often this village becomes a little more colorful. Such was the case on this early-summer afternoon when the Resort hosted 400 guests with a Mexican Pop Culture theme party incorporating an 18 foot tall wrestling mask entrance, colorful lines of suspended perforated paper, Chalupa-styled rafts, loteria-inspired food stations and highflying, masked wrestlers.
The theme party has been used in a few select occasions for incentive groups much to the surprise and delight of the participating guests, staff and onlookers. The event is mounted around the beautiful, curved, De Cortez swimming pool deck with the wrestling ring placed in front, on the beach. A slightly raised portion of the pool is the perfect landing point for a transparent stage giving the impression that the live band is actually playing on the water.
The rousing event featured 11 food stations dispersed throughout the venue allowing guests to mingle and interact while discovering exquisite flavors at each turn. Once the sun set over the Sea of Cortez, warm wash lighting and LED illumination painted the pool deck while a gobo image of a wrestling mask was projected onto the sand of the beach. It was a remarkable evening, but perhaps even more impressive was the return to tranquility at sunrise when all the party favors and décor had been put back into their boxes. Sheraton Hacienda del Mar continues to provide its groups reasons to come back again and again.
