WELCHES, ORE.- (September 25, 2014) – The Resort at The Mountain is delighted to introduce FootGolf, one of the fastest growing recreational activities in the United States. FootGolf is played with a soccer ball on a golf course and is scored by utilizing the rules of stroke or match play in golf, as participants attempt to kick the ball from tee to green and into a 21 inch cup.
“FootGolf is a great opportunity for family and friends to experience our golf courses in a fun and approachable way,” said Bryce Finnman, PGA golf professional at The Resort at The Mountain. “We are very excited to add this unique sport to the long list of great recreational activities available at The Resort.”
The FootGolf program will be available every Wednesday and Sunday after 2 p.m., starting Wednesday, September 24, 2014. FootGolf will be available on Thistle Nine, an 18 hole course that is 2,289 yards in length with a par of 69. Fees for FootGolf are $16 for adults and $12 for juniors for 18 holes. For 9 holes it is $12 for adults and $8 for juniors. Soccer balls are available to rent for $5. Soccer cleats are not permitted but “indoor soccer shoes” are allowed.
The Resort at The Mountain features a 27-hole golf course nestled in the Salmon River Valley of the Mt. Hood National Forest, is open to Resort guests, members, and daily-fee play. The Courses at The Resort consists of three nine-hole golf courses that accommodate for levels from optimistic beginners to seasoned pros and include Pine Cone Nine, the region’s oldest course; Foxglove Nine, the signature course; and Thistle Nine, the forgiving course.
