Chef's Tease, Ernestine's Elixir and music by The Royal Conservatory among hotel's summer highlights
Toronto, ON - With summer only weeks away, the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville (220 Bloor Street West) is celebrating patio season in the city with the launch of a new menu, a customized cocktail and live music.
Beginning Thursday, May 21, and for the very first time, the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville will open its SkyLounge patio to guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Throughout the summer, chic locals and savvy tourists will be able to dine on their favourite Signatures Restaurant dishes, like seafood Cobb salad, paninis and eggs Benedict, while unwinding on the hotel's serene, oasis-like patio.
There will also be a new tapas-style menu. Highlights include olive and caper bruschetta on a baked cambozola walnut crouton ($8); a bocadillo trio of pulled pork, beef tenderloin and chorizo ($16); a rabbit paella with shrimp, mussels, escargot, saffron, asparagus and olives ($26); a vegetable platter served with pesto rubbed sourdough, buffalo mozzarella, vine ripe cherry tomatoes and eggplant salad with roast pimento and saffron chickpea cous cous ($32); and, for dessert, a hazelnut caramel espresso torte topped with fresh Ontario berries ($9).
Rather not choose? Leave the decision to Chef Joe Rabba and the Chef's Tease ($34), a play on the omakase style of dining. The sensational and surprising meal is served in several parts: three cold plates, three hot, a cheese platter and two decadent desserts.
And back by popular demand, Grill Thursdays. Every Thursday night the hotel will fire up their grill and serve fresh cuts of meat like Brazilian flank steak ($6), wild boar burgers ($4.50) and mini sirloin steaks ($4.5). They'll even have grilled asparagus ($3), chimichurri shrimp ($4.50) and tikka marinated chicken ($3) on hand for vegetarians.
Wash it all down with the hotel's brand new, patio-perfect cocktail, Ernestine's Elixir ($13). A refreshing mix of Hpnotiq, SOHO Lychee Liqueur and cranberry juice, it's served in a chilled vanilla sugar-rimmed martini glass. One dollar of every drink will benefit Ernestine's Women's Shelter, an organization that helps women and children escape violent situations.
The InterContinental Toronto Yorkville is also proud to announce a partnership with The Royal Conservatory (www.rcmusic.ca) leading up to the opening of Koerner Hall at the TELUS Centre in September. Students from The Glenn Gould School will play music at SkyLounge from 5:30 to 8 p.m., every Thursday through Saturday.
