Guestrooms Are First to "Redefine Luxury" at the 25-year-old Resort
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (February 16, 2009) --- When Lynn McIntosh checked into Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress last weekend it was almost 10 p.m. and she'd had a long flight.
"I've been bringing groups to this property for a very long time," said the corporate meeting planner. "And I'd heard renovation had begun, but the moment my head felt that pillow I understood what redefining luxury meant."
This 25-year-old resort has long been a hospitality icon in the Orlando market, but with the launch of the restyling of its 750 guestrooms there is a "redefinition of luxury", says Paul Tang, vice president and managing director, Global Hyatt Corporation and general manager of Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress.
"Before the end of 2010, nearly every inch of this hotel will be transformed to provide the finest resort experience and carry on the legacy of unmatched hospitality."
The 1,500-acre Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Resort is located near Orlando in Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
Over the next 24 months the hotel, part of the 1,500-acre Grand Cypress resort, will go through renovation and updating in phases, designed to assure guests are comfortable and meetings are undisturbed.
"Today, the guestroom must take into consideration the myriad needs of our guests. We know that this room must accommodate work, dining, play, relaxing and sleep," said Bob Dees, director of sales and marketing.
Hyatt's Grand Bed with Egyptian cotton linens.
Our new guestrooms are a modern and beautiful retreat complete with high tech capabilities, a comfortable chair and desk for work and dining, well considered lighting, flat panel TV's and of course our Grand Bed with the high thread count linens and a soft touch."
The next phase of the renovation will include new dining concepts, a modern facelift for all public and meeting spaces including new finishes, lighting, furniture and high-tech systems.
"Our 65,000 square feet of ballroom, breakout and event space are being enhanced to assure we have all the conveniences and accommodations important for successful meetings," said Dees. "Nothing has been left to chance we have reviewed every detail so meeting planners can be certain their priorities have been met, and then some," he said.
