From the editors of Elite MeetingsEast, Miami brought the chic, urban excitement of Swire Hotels’ first two East hotels — in Hong Kong and Beijing — to Miami’s financial district in 2016. Designed by Miami-based Arquitectonica as part of the new $1.05 billion mixed-use Brickell City Centre, the 40-story tower contains 352 accommodations, including eight suites and 89 long-stay residences. It also features 20,000 square feet of event space, an extraordinary pool deck, a fitness center, lobby and signature restaurants, and Miami’s highest (and some say hippest) rooftop bar.
The guest rooms’ wall-to-wall views of Miami and Biscayne Bay set off contemporary, ethereal gray and blue interiors by New York-based Clodagh Design, a firm known for its use of feng shui principles and spa aesthetics. Those stunning views stretch into The Crush ballroom on Level 39, the High Noon boardroom and Rise and Set event spaces on Level 38, and four flexible Workshops on Level 6.
Another story down, the open-air pool deck invites guests to choose from shade, sun, and four distinct pool experiences — or reserve the spaces for private events. Among locals, the deck is a destination in itself, rivaled only by three spaces designed by L.A.’s Studio Collective: the poolside restaurant, Quinto La Huella, an outpost of Uruguay’s Parador La Huella; Sugar, an indoor/outdoor rooftop bar and garden; and the Tea Room, an Asian-inspired lounge also on the 40th floor.
