July 20, 2010, marked the opening of new meeting facilities at Club Med Ixtapa Pacific—and the crowning enhancement of a multiyear, property-wide renovation. Nestled between the Sierra Madre mountains and the Pacific Ocean, the resort fronts Playa Quieta, a wide, golden, palm-studded stretch of sandy beach. Located just north of Ixtapa’s main hotel strip, and in close proximity to Zihuatanejo—one of Mexico’s most charming fishing villages—the 34-acre all-inclusive resort offers a fusion of tranquillity and luxury.
While the new 6,500-square-foot conference center incorporates the hacienda style of the rest of the resort, it offers meeting planners state-of-the-art flexibility. It adapts for any purpose, from a 600-person convention with breakouts to an intimate party for 20. New business amenities include the latest in presentation equipment, wireless Internet access, corporate team building, and a dedicated conference staff. Thanks to Club Med’s “rent-a-village” buyout option, larger groups can have the whole resort to themselves.
Another Club Med advantage—its all-inclusive package—allows planners to count on a set price per person, which covers every meal, snack, and beverage; activity; and accommodation in the 298 rooms and suites. Attendees wishing to spend free time beyond the rooms, beach, and pools can select from virtually limitless options—everything from tennis to sailing classes, circus school, and dance lessons. Programs for kids aged four months through the teens highlight the incentives for participants bringing the family along.
