Christine Duffy of Maritz Travel to Deliver Keynote Address at the Fall 2010 Elite Meetings Alliance
Elite Meeting Alliance (EMA) to focus on the evolution of the industry
SANTA BARBARA, CA – September 8, 2010 – Elite Meetings International (EMI) announced today that Christine Duffy, president and chief executive officer of Maritz Travel Company, will be the keynote speaker at their upcoming Elite Meetings Alliance (EMA), being held October 3–5, at Kingsmill Resort & Spa in Williamsburg, Virginia. The three-day event, the eleventh for EMI, will bring together prequalified corporate and association meeting professionals with leaders in the hotel industry to cultivate relationships and conduct business through prescheduled one-on-one meetings, informative education sessions for CMP credits, and various networking events. Duffy will address the event’s theme of evolution within the industry in her keynote speech entitled “Coming Out of The Storm…Leading Through Change & Opportunity.”

Duffy serves on the board of the U.S. Travel Association where she has been a strong advocate in the media and on Capitol Hill for the value of meetings and incentive travel. Named one of the "25 Most Influential Executives of 2007" by Business Travel News, she served on Meeting Professionals International (MPI) Board of Directors for six years— including one year as Chairwoman—and also founded MPI's Women's Leadership Initiative. Duffy was inducted into the Convention Industry Council Hall of Leaders in 2007.
