Post-Event Survey Reflects Satisfaction in Quality of Attendees and Appointments at Elite Meetings Alliance
Elite Meetings International’s August 2014 Show at EPIC Miami, A Kimpton Hotel Generates High Scores for Planner Quality and Returns on Investment and Time
Santa Barbara, CA – September 15, 2014 – The August 2014 Elite Meetings Alliance (EMA), a three-day event focused on one-on-one appointments, education, and networking, earned high marks in post-event surveys. The last of three EMAs for 2014 drew outstanding scores from attendees for likelihood of booking business as a result of the event, meeting planners who said they’d recommend the event to colleagues, and suppliers who would recommend the EMA to fellow suppliers. Elite Meetings International (EMI) hosts the EMA three times a year. The event was hosted by EPIC Miami, a Kimpton Hotel in Miami, Florida, August 16–19, 2014.

In the post-event survey, 100 percent of responding planners gave an 8 or above (on a 10-point scale) when asked the likelihood of recommending the EMA to a fellow planner. On the supplier side, 92.5 percent weighed in with an 8 or above.

EMI CEO Kelly Foy said the show’s post event numbers mirror the feedback received throughout the show. “Long before the event begins, we vet attendees carefully to ensure the highest quality of buyers, and I think those efforts paid off once again. Our host hotel, EPIC Miami, A Kimpton Hotel, created a memorable experience in every regard, and set a perfect stage for conducting business and building relationships,” he said.

Kristin Hoebee, Franchise Development of Speedpro Canada, characterized the EMA as an “amazing event” and said she “made fantastic connections, took away valuable information I can use for my meetings, and met hotel representatives I may not have sourced otherwise.”

Karen Rogowski of Turning Stone Resort said she “appreciated the intimate setting, which allowed bonding opportunities with planners that I otherwise would not have met. I am excited,” she continued, “to see how these new relationships grow.”

The Experience
Education sessions, offering 6 hours of verified CMP credit, included topics ranging from budget concerns to technology. The keynote speech on overcoming challenges by Allison Massari during Monday’s luncheon had the audience moved to tears. Networking opportunities included a chartered cruise aboard the Venetian Lady, which raised $850 for ALS through the ice bucket challenge. Another give-back opportunity supported UrbanPromise Miami.
