Elite Meetings International Partners with U.K.–Based Executive Secretary Magazine and European Management Assistants (EUMA)
Santa Barbara, Calif.: February, 2014—Elite Meetings International (EMI) announced its partnership with two European organizations: European Management Assistants (EUMA) and Executive Secretary magazine. These organizations support the career development of administrative professionals, many of whom are tasked with sourcing and planning meetings and events.

"Since Day 1 we have focused on creating useful tools for the agnostic planner who has the meeting planner role, but not the title," said EMI CEO Kelly Foy. "These partnerships fit right in line with our goal of educating this valuable group of administrative professionals and executive assistants, and providing them with a host of innovative and intuitive tools for sourcing their events."

"We feel these partnerships have great synergy," added Alda Egurrola-Wienke, EMI's regional director for Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific. "One of our core company values has always been to support and streamline the task of planning meetings, and our website, EliteMeetings.com, is used extensively by executive assistants in the U.S. who are tasked with planning meetings," she said. "Hard-working administrative professionals will realize time-saving benefits from the slate of prescreened hotels and the simplicity of the SpeedRFP tool found on EliteMeetings.com."

The Executive Secretary Magazine Partnership
Executive Secretary magazine is a publication devoted to the career development of administrative professionals. Based in Twickenham, United Kingdom, the publication enjoys broad distribution among management assistants throughout Europe and beyond. Along with introducing EMI's venue-sourcing tools to Executive Secretary magazine's readers, the partnership agreement offers opportunities for EMI to contribute to the magazine and participate in Executive Secretary LIVE, the publication's annual educational event, which will take place in London from March 28-30, 2014.

Executive Secretary magazine's publisher and editor, Lucy Brazier, said, "We're delighted to partner with Elite Meetings International. Sourcing venues for events has long been a fundamental part of the executive assistant's role. EMI's venue sourcing technology supports the needs of the modern-day assistant. Their commitment to supporting the profession through intuitive tools, guidance, and their exceptional Elite Meetings Alliance conferences made them an ideal company for us to partner with."

The EUMA Partnership
EUMA supports the career goals of its members through training, conferences with expert speakers, and a twice-yearly publication, ProActive. The organization's membership consists of groups in 25 countries, including Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

EUMA European Chairman Else-Britt Lundgren expressed excitement about the partnership, saying, "We appreciate that a top-level organization like EMI recognizes the potential of management assistants in the meetings and events segment, and understands the specific needs of these professionals, who juggle many tasks. A definite highlight is that members can work with a short list of hotels, recommended by peers (saving a lot of research time) and can still reach out to the hotels directly. Also the fact that our members can share their experiences to assist others in their event planning tasks is a very positive aspect. EUMA is looking forward to the relationship, and making the event- planning process more efficient for everyone involved."

The partnership coincides with EUMA's support for the International Year of the Secretary and Assistant (IYOTSA 2014), as well as the organization's fortieth anniversary. EUMA will be supporting IYOTSA 2014 initiative to bring attention to the importance of management assistants to businesses around the world.
