Elite Overview
From the editors of Elite Meetings
Designed to rival the great palaces of Europe, The Westgate Hotel is an iconic jewel in the heart of downtown San Diego, California. While the windows frame breathtaking views of the harbor, Coronado Bridge, and more, guests stroll through hallways lined with eighteenth century tapestries, bronze sculptures, antiques, and replicas of Gainsboroughs and Bouchers. A harpist accompanies afternoon tea in the gilded lobby, which features an authentic Henri Dasson concierge desk.
Upstairs, the second floor's Versailles Ballroom crowns a collection of 12 meeting rooms designed for up to 250 people under elaborate ceilings and hand-cut Baccarat crystal chandeliers. Every group has one convention services manager to serve as point person for all hotel departments, from planning and coordination to audiovisual, catering, and floral.
The Westgate Room serves contemporary cuisine that reinvents classic dishes in a refined setting. A gourmet deli and wine shop adds coffee and pastries in the morning and lays out a daily buffet at lunchtime. Delegates not meeting or dining can also drop by the hotel's Plaza Bar (voted Best Piano Bar by the readers of San Diego magazine), business center, spa, and fitness center; step across the street to the San Diego Civic Theatre; or stroll two blocks to experience the incomparable shopping and nightlife of San Diego's famous Gaslamp Quarter.
