HOTEL INTRODUCES ON-SITE KOSHER CATERING FOR JEWISH COMMUNITY EVENTS AND MEETINGS
Posted March 5, 2009
W SEATTLE TO EXPAND OFFERINGS IN 2009
February 10, 2009 (Seattle, WA) - W Seattle announces the latest addition to its meetings and events services with its extension of in-house kosher catering beginning in January 2009. Previously, all kosher events served at the hotel had meals prepared and delivered by an outside company that specialized in following the dietary and cooking laws of kosher food and drink.
Now, W Seattle has received its kosher certification and will work directly with the Vaad HaRabanim of Greater Seattle (council of rabbis) who will provide kosher supervision of the hotels designated kosher catering program. W Seattle will offer kosher meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner events and will serve kosher spirits, wine and beer. On site supervision for the process will be overseen by the Seattle Vaad who will ensure that all products are inspected and procedures are strictly followed. To conform to the regulations of the Jewish religion, specific, detailed rules apply in preparing kosher meals. These include understanding what foods are allowed and those that are forbidden, the restriction of eating certain kinds of animals, the use of particular utensils and how they may or may not be used with other food groups.
Greg Campbell, Director of Sales and Marketing for W Seattle is enthusiastic about the hotels expanded offerings: We see W Seattles ability to provide in-house kosher events as a terrific addition to our business opportunities for 2009. W Seattle, as a modern, stylish venue will offer a fresh, new approach to kosher events in the Seattle market. The fact that we can utilize our in-house, award-winning chef and produce high quality kosher food in a unique environment provides a terrific alternative for the marketplace.
For business gatherings and social events, W Seattle offers the benefit of architecturally spectacular public spaces and an attentive staff that are well equipped to facilitate any request, from unique weddings to bar and bat mitzvahs, non-profit activities and large conferences. W Seattle can meet the needs of up to 500 guests via 11 function rooms that encompass 10,000 square feet of event and meeting space including a 4,500 square foot ballroom, called the Great Room, top-of-the line audio/ visual equipment and high speed internet access.
