The New York Times called W Chicago–City Center an “oasis of cool in the button-down Loop”—a description that fits perfectly.
With a prime location at the heart of Chicago's financial district, the hotel welcomes guests in a classic hall under a gilded dome ceiling. Known as the Living Room rather than the Lobby, the hall casts soft light over the stylish banquette seating, oversized lamps, board games, refreshments, projected art, and DJ who accompanies the room's mood-of-the-moment. Guests eager for further social opportunities can join the cast of celebrities and beautiful people who populate Ristorante We, the hotel's high-style Tuscan-inspired steak house, and The Living Room Bar, W's Rande Gerber nightspot.
Groups in town for meetings choose from 13 function rooms in 13,000 square feet of cutting-edge conference space. Favorite venues include the vaulted Great Room for the grandest of corporate events and a cozy loftlike room with fireplace for small casual business affairs.
Like the meeting rooms, the guest rooms and suites epitomize W's edgy take on modern comfort, style, and technology. They combine glossy urban surfaces and plush pillow-topped beds, work desks and WebTV, Internet access, snacks, safes, and Bliss Spa amenities. The perks extend to in-room video, DVD, and CD libraries; and iPod docking stations ready to guide guests on jaunts to neighborhood museums, architectural monuments, and live theater.
Since we work for a service oriented organization based on customer needs and satisfaction – I wanted to personally compliment your staff.
Mary Chrusciel was my contact for our meeting July 22-24. She was most friendly, helpful and very accommodating with our time there. Everything was made extremely easy working with Mary on our event!
Other staff that exceeded expectations were Vanessa Lopez and Dimitre Peev. We had a few “out of the ordinary” things that happened – a water glass breaking in someone's hands at lunch and drilling from another floor that we heard in our meeting room. The quick attention to both was much appreciated.
Our group also used your hotel for a work project on what the customer sees through their eyes if they never stepped in the facility (in this case – the hotel) before. Since this was the Hispanic Latino Collaborative – we even had someone come to the registration desk speaking Spanish – and Rosa Bibian was able to speak back to him in Spanish!

I wanted to extend my sincere thanks and let you know what a special group of individuals you have at the W Hotel City Center. Your team and staff supported our team to put on a stellar event for our customers and partners. Since the close of the conference on Tuesday, our sales folks, our consultants and executives keep receiving consistent and positive feedback from our attendees on how much they enjoyed the conference and a big part of that feedback includes the hotel and the staff that we all had a pleasure to work with. There were some exceptional individuals that my team and I worked with and I wanted to call a few of them out:
Mary Chrusciel. Mary was fabulous! From my one sentence emails (when we were on the road traveling to Chicago) to the consistent reworking of our BEOs to ensure that we would have the right amount of food she was easy and very flexible to work with. She always checked in on the team to see if we had everything that was required and did what it took to ensure every request was met including making our VIP guests truly feel like VIPs!
Dimitri. I can't say enough about Dimitri. We had quite a few changes around our program and it affected our meeting room requirements but you wouldn't have known it, execution was flawless. In addition, we had some last minute changes and new requests around F&B over the 2.5 days to which Dimitri always responded “Not a problem”. His service was impeccable and totally blew me away - he's awesome!
Ryan Birch. Visually – Ryan added the “wow”. The set up he recommended, from the lights to the truss - made a great first impression to the team and our attendees. It looked professional and the A/V production of the conference did not look like our first. Always on hand to help out with mics or even a “dud” monitor, Ryan was always a phone call away.
While I have called out a few individuals, the whole team was a pleasure to work with. It was nice to see the same faces over the course of our stay. There was a sense of partnership and team effort to ensure we pulled off our inaugural user conference and based on all the feedback we have received – we did with flying colours.
Thanks again for all your hard work! The Whatever/Whenever experience was truly felt here.
