Bermuda Poised to Welcome its Most Exciting New Meeting Venue: Tucker's Point Hotel & Spa
When the highly anticipated Tucker's Point Hotel & Spa opens in Bermuda in April 2009 as the centerpiece of the Tucker's Point Club community, it will mark a new generation of meeting experiences on island. The 5,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Tucker's Point Conference Centre is designed for executive board of director meetings, senior management retreats, and top-tier incentives. A full resort buy-out is an exciting option for planners, and a soft opening will take place in November for sneak previews of the meeting experience. Adding to that is Tucker's Point's enviable waterfront location just 10 minutes from the airport and its standing as the only resort with an 18-hole championship golf course on-site, making the Hotel & Spa uniquely poised to attract Bermuda's most exclusive gatherings.
A Warm Welcome
Guests of the Hotel & Spa know upon arrival that they're in for a special experience. Pre-registration enables the arrival experience to be truly first-rate, with greetings by name and a personal escort to walk guests to their suites. A hotel tour and a welcome drink, should guests so desire, is offered on the way. And as it is Tucker's Point Hotel & Spa's policy to host only one group at a time, meeting attendees will also enjoy the exclusivity of being the only group in house.
Tucker's Point Conference Centre
The centerpiece of the Conference Centre will be the dramatic, 2,700-square-foot Camden Ballroom that can accommodate groups of up to 200 under its sweeping, 13-and-a-half-foot ceiling, or be reconfigured into three separate spaces - the Verdmont Room, Soncy Room and the Chelston Room - each measuring 900 square feet, and named for 18th and 19th Century estate homes maintained by the Bermuda National Trust. The handsomely appointed, 560-square-foot Board Room seats 12, and the ballroom will open to the 1,700-square-foot Gallery, perched above the spectacular Palm Court and ideal for sophisticated gatherings of all kinds.
State-of-the-art technology capabilities will include a portable "command cart" that puts a complete array of audiovisual, lighting and climate controls at the presenter's fingertips, as well as satellite conferencing and complete projection screen options. In addition, complimentary WiFi will be available throughout the resort.
A private office suite and a full-service business center are at the disposal of on-site planners, offering support services and equipment, including secretarial services, IT support staff, copying, scanning, faxing and printing abilities, and several computer terminals.
Singular Spaces for Exclusive Gatherings
Beyond the Conference Centre, the Walsingham Suite will be ideal for private entertaining with its separate service entrance, 340 square-foot balcony, and space for 50 guests. The Point, Tucker's Point Hotel & Spa's signature dining experience, seats 110 in its fine dining room. Additionally, its idyllic Point Terrace boasts two crackling fireplaces and sunset views across Harrington Sound, looking out to the Commissioner's House and island's end; the intimate Wine Room features wall-to-wall bottles of fine wine and seating for up to 22 guests; and a Chef's Table will host unforgettable dining experiences inside the excitement of the kitchen. The Library, just off the lobby and overlooking Castle Islands, is the perfect spot for afternoon tea or after-dinner drinks, serving coffee, tea, espresso and pastries on fine china.
Ocean breezes and spectacular views will add to the alfresco appeals of an outdoor event at Tucker's Point Hotel & Spa. Poolside receptions can be hosted along the Palm Court, with its stately rows of palms, magnificent pool and fountains on the spa lawn overlooking the lush Coffee Chine. The Mahogany Terrace, with its signature outdoor grill cuisine and a pergola draped with flowers and twinkling lanterns overhead, is another offering located adjacent to the Palm Court Pool and Coffee Chine. In association with Bermuda's ubiquitous Little Venice Group, Tucker's Point can also offer floating event space onboard The Venetian, a 100-foot yacht with the capabilities of hosting cocktail receptions for 50, and sit-down dinners for up to 25 people.
Beach and Clubhouse Venues
The Tucker's Point Golf, Beach & Tennis Club will also play host to a range of events on-site. The Tucker's Point Golf Clubhouse offers two spaces that can be combined or used separately for dinners and meetings of up to 100, with sweeping views that extend from the golf course to Castle Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The Golf Clubhouse also houses a 330-square-foot board room accommodating 12, perfect for morning meetings followed by an afternoon on the links. The Beach Club affords access to Bermuda's longest stretch of private beach, and makes a spectacular venue for open-air events, or on its intimate, beachfront dining terrace. Casual and formal affairs - from barbecue cook-outs, seafood spreads, passed hors d'oevres or sit-down dinners for up to 10 people in a beach cabana - can be executed at the Beach Club, all with pink sand underfoot.
The Tucker's Point Hotel & Spa will be the centerpiece of Tucker's Point Club, Bermuda's first luxury resort, private club and residential community. Each of its 88 oversized guest rooms boasts a balcony with a water view. Hotel guests will be introduced to all the recreational and dining amenities of the Tucker's Point Golf, Beach & Tennis Club, including the 18-hole Roger Rulewich-designed golf course and stately golf clubhouse; four Har-Tru clay tennis courts; and the Beach Club with access to a private pink sand beach, freshwater "horizon" swimming pool, a covered outdoor bar and intimate dining terrace. A Dive Shop and Watersports Centre, the full-service Spa at Tucker's Point and several fine dining establishments round out the amenities. Tucker's Point is situated on 200 acres along a prized parcel of waterfront land overlooking Castle Harbour, Harrington Sound and the Atlantic Ocean.
