A Refreshing, "Floor-to-Ceiling" Room Renovation at Town and Country Resort & Convention Center

The Town and Country Resort & Convention Center has a long standing history of delivering excellent service and a memorable guest experience. Our commitment to service has been recognized with our high volume of repeat customers and with numerous industry and consumer awards acknowledging that we do, in fact, live by the simple principle of our Mission Statement: to provide each guest with Service They’ll Always Remember (STAR Service). In addition, we have continued to improve, expand and refresh our meeting facilities to accommodate the diverse needs of meeting planners and groups alike. The addition of the 45,000 square foot Grand Exhibit Hall and Grand Foyer has created even greater flexibility within our 225,000 total square feet of meeting room options and configurations. And our garden setting continues to draw rave reviews as an oasis of tranquility amid the chaos of today’s modern world.
It is against this background that we am pleased to announce that beginning in May 2012, all 1,000 guest rooms at the Town and Country will be refreshed and modernized with updated technology and designer inspired upgrades. This 21 month “floor-to-ceiling” program will encompass the following enhancements:
•A calming, top quality, neutral toned carpet complimented by porcelain silk wall coverings;
•Drapes, duvets, bed scarfs and accents selected from a soft, refreshing color palette;
•Exquisite crown and base molding accents;
•32 inch 1080 LCD High Definition Televisions with free Hi Def and premium pay per view movies.
•iPad/Smart Phone compatible Smart Device docking station with clock radio;
•The conversion of 100 of our guest rooms to the popular “Palmilla” Baja theme featuring Spanish tile, cotton linen soft goods and brightly colored traditional Mexican accents; plus
•Updated and enhanced directional signage throughout the property.
In addition, our guests will benefit from the immediate enhancement of our Hi Speed Internet systems, both wired and WiFi, throughout the property including guest rooms, meeting spaces and restaurants.
•AT&T has custom designed and engineered the in-room system to the anticipated demands of tomorrows multi-device internet user. With a nearly $500,000 investment in recent upgrades, this system features a Cisco Dual “N” controller based network with an AP ratio to room of 3.5 to 1. The partnership between the Town and Country and AT&T’s team of technology professionals will ensure that today’s business, meeting and leisure traveler will have access to a fast, reliable internet experience while staying at the Town and Country.
•In addition, a nearly $250,000 technology upgrade to the 225,000 square foot Town and Country Convention Center will result in state-of-the-art Wi-Fi throughout the meeting facilities. The backbone of this technology is the Meraki system, featuring wireless access points and enterprise cloud controller features. This system will be managed by Meeting Services Inc. (MSI) and be staffed by I.T. and Internet professionals for all group events. This system will be fully operational as of August 2012.

41,000 Square Feet of Meeting Space Now Open!

The opening of our 41,000 square foot Grand Hall at the Town and Country Resort & Convention Center marked a new measure of space, service and success available to meeting planners and groups as they look to San Diego for their future meetings and trade shows.

The Grand Hall, connected to the Town and Country’s existing space, complements the 24,000 square foot Atlas Ballroom, and the 17,000 square foot Golden Pacific Ballroom, allowing groups up to 5,000 to meet in San Diego’s historic and affordable Mission Valley. With the addition of the Grand Hall, total available convention and exhibit space has increased from 185,000 square feet to 225,000 square feet. The center core of the property known as the “Grand Plaza” has also been renovated and reconfigured to include a pedestrian area that is 50,000 square feet and will accommodate large outdoor functions. We have restyled and refreshed our guestrooms, suites and ballrooms and have added a new entrance to the Royal Palm Tower for improved curb appeal and a pedestrian promenade with even easier access from the resort to the light-rail San Diego Trolley and Fashion Valley Shopping Center. The entrance to the property has been enhanced, adding to the hotel’s charm and character.

The 14,000 square foot Bella Tosca Day Spa, Salon & Fitness Center features a complete European spa, salon and fitness facility. Additional upgrades consist of improvements to the Regency Ballroom and Conference Center, delivery of Wi-Fi high-speed Internet access to all guestrooms, upgraded directional signage throughout the property, and restoration of swimming pools, landscapes and guest elevators.

On-site, guests will have five restaurant venues to choose from, including Trellises Garden Grille, Kelly’s Steakhouse, Charlie’s, Terrace Café and the Terrace Deli. Trellises offers a variety of California Fresh menu items, Kelly’s features a lively piano bar with steaks, prime rib and barbecue, Charlie’s has six HD TV Big Screens and a Giant 73” HD Big Screen and serves a casual fare and the Terrace Café offers a bistro-style setting for guests.

Located adjacent to the hotel, within walking distance, is the 27-hole Riverwalk Golf Club. Preferred tee times are available through our concierge. The recently enhanced course features undulating fairways, four lakes with waterfalls that play on 13 of the 27 holes and a full-service pro shop with tournament capabilities.
