A New York landmark since 1930, The Pierre—the U.S. flagship of Taj Hotels, Resorts & Palaces—rises majestically above Fifth Avenue and Central Park. The legendary hotel reopened June 1, 2009, following a $100 million renovation. Today's comfortably elegant residential-style decor complements the property's classic heritage and retains its sophisticated atmosphere. As in decades past, guests enjoy impeccable service, including white-gloved elevator attendants to whisk them to their rooms.

The renovation reconfigured the first floor to accommodate a gracious new reception area and two of the city's newest social destinations: Two E Bar/Lounge for innovative cocktails and small plates; and Le Caprice, a black-and-white art deco restaurant modeled on the celebrated London restaurant of the same name. Private gatherings take place in a choice of nine meeting rooms, including a state-of-the-art boardroom, and two ornately detailed ballrooms for up to 800 guests—site of some of New York's most notable events for over seven decades. The tradition of exclusivity and distinction continues with a private entrance for groups, trompe l'oeil murals, and intimate views of Central Park.

With the park just steps away, seasoned Clef d'Or concierges regularly arrange for rowboat outings on the lake, bicycle rentals, even ice-skating at Wollman Rink. The same team also arranges for spa treatments, restaurant reservations, personal shoppers, and private tours of some of Manhattan's most popular attractions.
