Mulholland and The Huntington Hotel Collaborate on Designing a Suite Combining the Charm and Elegance of The Huntington With the Luxury and Quality of the Mulholland Lifestyle
SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - February 6, 2008) - The Huntington Hotel, a landmark destination in San Francisco for more than 84 years, and Mulholland, a manufacturer of luxury leather goods, travel products and lifestyle accessories, today announced the two companies are collaborating on creating a custom-designed suite in The Huntington Hotel. Construction has already begun on the Mulholland Suite, with completion expected towards the end of March. The suite will be unveiled at a special event on April 2.
The Mulholland Suite, which will be available to Huntington guests by request, will be designed to reflect the look and feel that has made the Mulholland brand so popular for the past two decades.
The suite, which is being created by San Francisco designer and Mulholland creative director Jim Neeley, is designed to be a quiet refuge in a busy city. The design will blend classic elegance with a contemporary and distinctly Northern California point-of-view. The suite will be fitted with pieces from the Mulholland furniture collection, offering guests an authentic sense of place and a unique visual experience.
"The Mulholland and Huntington brands have proved to be an inspiration to one another," said Gail Isono, general manager of The Huntington Hotel. "This new suite will create an environment for our guests that captures the unrivaled elegance and style of two iconic San Francisco brands, combining to bring each visitor a truly unique and personal experience."
The oversized two-room suite will feature a living/dining area done in warm gold, cream and bronze colors inspired by the late afternoon coastal sun, and a bedroom area in tones of blue and gray, reminiscent of this romantic city in the fog. Original architectural moldings and windows frame beautiful views of San Francisco. Rich leathers, metals and woods elicit memories of Mulholland roots of providing custom made accessories to discriminating customers. The design balances traditional luxury with a casual and contemporary point of view.
"The Mulholland brand is more than just products; it is about the lifestyle of our customers," said David Dow, president of Mulholland. "Our collections seamlessly integrate with people's lives by offering unsurpassed levels of luxury, quality and a distinct feel. This suite at The Huntington will let people actually live the Mulholland style."
The Huntington and Mulholland are both family-owned and operated companies. The launch of the suite coincides with the 20th anniversary of Mulholland, which was founded in 1988 in San Francisco.
The Mulholland Suite will be available for booking starting April 5 through The Huntington Hotel's main reservation line at 415-747-5400.
