Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of JOE DI GIROLAMO as director of sales & marketing

for The Heldrich, the new luxury hotel located in downtown New Brunswick, New Jersey. Michael J. Taylor, CHA, CMP, general manager, made the announcement.
“I am so pleased to welcome Joe to The Heldrich,” said Mr. Taylor. “He has extensive experience in the New Jersey market and comes to his new role with important customer relationships in place. We welcome him to our property and to the leadership team.”
Joe Di Girolamo brings over two and a half decades of senior-level experience in hotel sales and marketing to The Heldrich. He was most recently the executive director of retail sales & group marketing for the Sands Hotel and Casino of Atlantic City. In this role he achieved significant success in developing new business, substantially increasing group market share for the property.
From 1997 to 2003, Mr. Di Girolamo served as vice president convention development for the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority. In this position, he oversaw national sales initiatives designed to attract convention guests to the city, which was being re-branded as a premier convention and visitor destination.
Previous to this, Mr. Di Girolamo worked in senior sales positions of increasing responsibility for the Sands Hotel and Casino. He began his career as a convention service manager for the property.
Joe Di Girolamo received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Richard Stockton College of Pomona, New Jersey. He also holds the professional designations of Certified Hotel Sales Executive (CHSE) and Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME). Mr. Girolamo is relocating to New Brunswick.
