The Heathman Hotel upholds a distinctive brand of hospitality in Kirkland, Washington, Seattle’s vibrant Eastside waterfront community. Groups of 5 to 175 find that the AAA Four-Diamond Award–winning boutique property lives up to the same credo as the original award-winning Heathman in Portland, Oregon: “Where Service is Still an Art.”

The service-minded philosophy applies to the hotel’s approach to everything, beginning with events designed to surpass expectations. Instead of cookie-cutter packages, the hotel tailors each meeting, incentive, and gathering to a group’s specific needs. Stylish, sophisticated event space includes a generously sized boardroom, ballroom, and prefunction area. High-speed wireless Internet access and the latest audiovisual technology add to attendees’ productivity and enjoyment.

An atmosphere of understated elegance fills 91 rooms and suites, where the Art of Sleep bed menu offers a choice of three mattress types and six pillow styles. During breaks, guests work out at the deluxe fitness center or book soothing treatments at Penterra Spa—among them, hot stone massages, coffee body scrubs, and customized skin care. Of special note: The private dining menus for groups showcase many of the seasonal selections featured at Trellis. Chef Brian Scheehser practices sustainable farming at his own five-acre garden, providing locally grown “farm to table” produce for all menus.

Guests enjoy the Heathman’s ideal location just two blocks from Lake Washington and mere minutes from the high-tech Eastside communities and attractions of greater Seattle.

Heathman Hotel garners AAA Four Diamond Award

The Heathman Hotel, Restaurant and Spa-Kirkland announced they received the AAA Travel Guide's Four Diamond Award, according to a Oct. 15 press release. The prestigious award is given to a select group of hotels and restaurants based on standards of comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality. Started in 1977, the AAA Diamond Awards are one of the oldest and most widely distributed rating standards in the travel industry.

We are thrilled to receive this honor from AAA, and the timing is impeccable as we mark the first anniversary of the Heathman Hotel in Kirklands unveiling, said Les Utley, general manager. To have achieved one of the Associations highest rankings in our first year of operation is a true testament to the original vision for the property as well as to the ongoing commitment of our staff to pamper each guest.

Opened in October 2007, the Heathman Hotel in downtown Kirkland was one of more than 60,000 lodgings and restaurants throughout North America evaluated by AAA professional inspectors. Less than 4 percent of evaluated properties met the rigorous standards to earn an AAA Four Diamond Award. Kirkland's other high-end hotel at Carillon Point, The Woodmark, is also a Four Diamond winner for 19 years running. Bellevue's Club, Hyatt Regency and Westin hotels are also Four Diamond winners.

AAA Four Diamond lodgings " such as the Heathman Hotel in Kirkland " are part of an elite group that continues to set the standard for personal service, first-class amenities and exquisite surroundings, said Steve Pomranz, AAAs Travel Services vice president. The care that the Heathman Hotels staff takes ensures that their guests will have an experience they will never forget.

Their highest award -- Five Diamonds -- is rarely given. The only hotel in the Puget Sound to hold that distinction is The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle.
