Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows overlooks the Pacific Ocean from atop the bluffs in Santa Monica, California. An authentic Hollywood hideaway, the resort occupies five parklike acres brimming with lush gardens, fountains, and waterfalls. The setting affords unparalleled views and privacy for the 302 recently refurbished guest rooms, including 32 California Bungalows reminiscent of beach cottages.

Groups convene in the 7,400-square-foot Starlight Ballroom—the largest in Santa Monica—or in the elegant board rooms, breakout rooms, or conference bungalow. Small, intimate groups appreciate the four split-level bungalows with entertainment areas, ocean-view balconies, and
private saunas. Manicured grounds add a variety of outdoor venues as well, including a local favorite, the Lobby Lounge, where waterfalls cascade into a pond stocked with koi. For a special treat, guests dine at Chef Ray Garcia’s seasonal bistro, Fig, dubbed “the place to be on Saturday night” by the New York Times.

Meeting attendees have a world of recreational options at hand. They can spend time at the pool, fitness center, or Exhale spa. They can visit the Santa Monica Pier, or browse the city’s famous shops and new Santa Monica Place. Or, piling into the hotel’s Lexus SUV, they can head for the new Miramar Beach Club, where butlers attend umbrella-shaded lounges and furnish Boogie Boards, a full beach menu, and more. With so much at hand, it’s little wonder why, in 2010, savvy readers of Travel + Leisure rated the Fairmont Miramar as the Top Business Hotel in Los Angeles.

Good hotel for small meetings. Walking distance to pier and great restaurants. I managed an executive meeting here with great results.

I held a meeting in June 2009 at the Fairmont Miramar, and I would return there in a heartbeat. The hotel staff was delightful and consistently accommodating. The conference services team was a true pleasure...they were efficient, professional, courteous, and handled all of our last minute requests and changes with ease. The property itself has a modern, airy feel with easy access to Santa Monica beach across the street and shopping/dining on Third Street Promenade just blocks away. Our general session took place in the Wedgewood Ballroom which was spacious and more than adequate for our group's needs. The Catalina Bungalow was perfect for our reception, providing both indoor and outdoor space with a view of the ocean. Though we did not use the Wilshire Rooms for our meeting, I would caution against booking anything there before seeing them. They're located in the basement with low ceilings, no windows, and a very claustrophobic feel. Overall, our attendees were pleased and I would highly recommend the Fairmont Miramar for meetings.
