The Canyon Suites at The Phoenician raised the bar on meetings when it opened the Red Rock Boardroom in Scottsdale, Arizona, last spring. The technological wonder crowns a $5.5-million upgrade to The Canyon Suites, The Phoenician's ultra-chic hotel within a hotel.
The boardroom, which adjoins two more rooms for meetings, dining, and receptions for up to 80, plus a nearly-4,000-square-foot patio for outdoor events, features a conference table with eight pop-up monitors, three remote-control cameras for videoconferencing, two 5.5-foot wall monitors (one with Smart overlay), and a 6-foot projection screen. The table's butter-soft leather armchairs seat up to 24 delegates. Behind the scenes, an IT butler integrates and operates all systems so the group can focus solely on the business at hand.
A personal ambassador facilitates every step of the guest's stay, from preplanning to departure. The amenities range from refreshments and wine tasting in the lobby to wake-up calls with tea or coffee service, nightly turndown with a butler-drawn bath on request, and a chauffeured Mercedes-Benz at the curb for trips to The Phoenician's spa, golf course, restaurants, bars, or shopping in town.
Beyond the pool—lined with out-of-this-world cabanas—and suites lavished in Rivolta Carmignani bed linens, flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, and in-room fax and printer/scanners, delegates have access to everything at The Phoenician, including another 64,000 square feet of flexible, state-of-the-art meeting space.
