Opening mid-2009, Terranea Resort is the newest oceanfront
destination resort on the Southern California coast


Los Angeles, CA- October 2007- Lowe Enterprises, Inc. and Destination Hotels & Resorts have appointed Kathy Van Vechten Vice President Sales and Marketing of the new Terranea Resort currently under construction on the exclusive PalosVerdes peninsula. The 102-acre resort is situated along the California coast, just south of Los Angeles and is scheduled to open in 2009.

"We are thrilled that we were able to lure Kathy out of her recent retirement to join our team at Terranea Resort," said Terri Haack, executive vice president and managing director. "Her experience and background will be invaluable in launching this prestigious resort."

Van Vechten brings more than 32 years experience in the hotel sales and marketing arena, a track record that includes 19 years of luxury hospitality marketing with Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. Van Vechten led the opening teams as regional director of marketing of two of the company's world-class Hawaii properties - Four Seasons Resort Maui - the company's first off-shore resort and Four Seasons Resort Hualalai - Hawaii's leading hotel. The Maui hotel was awarded the coveted Marketing Hotel of the Year under her direction.

A specialist in luxury hotel openings, Van Vechten then directed the introduction of the first non-gaming luxury hotel in Sin City with the opening of Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. Under her direction the property unmistakably defined the individual luxury experience in a city of mass marketing. During her tenure in Las Vegas Van Vechten introduced the Teddy Bear Suite, an annual holiday tradition that in its fifth year drew over 8,000 residents and guests into the hotel. She also oversaw the hotel's local charity outreach program which raised over $2 million for the UNLV Cancer Research Center. Her outreach to UNLV also encompassed the UNLV Mentor Program to students on various elements of the hospitality industry.
Prior to joining Four Seasons, Van Vecthen held sales and marketing positions with Hotel Inter-Continental, San Diego; the Kona Surf Resort and Country Club; the Westgate Hotel San Diego; and the San Diego Hilton Beach and Tennis Resort. She also directed sales efforts for the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Van Vechten served on marketing committees for the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, Maui Visitors Bureau and the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - July 23, 2007 - Lowe Enterprises, Inc. and Destination Hotels & Resorts announce that Terri A. Haack has been appointed executive vice president and managing director for the company's new Terranea Resort. The 102-acre luxury resort is situated along the California coastline in Rancho Palos Verdes, just south of Los Angeles and is scheduled to open in 2009.

"Terri has a proven track record for success prior to, and within the Destination collection," said Charlie Peck, chief operating officer for Destination Hotels & Resorts. "She is a natural leader who will significantly impact the success of Terranea."

Haack is currently vice president and regional managing director for Destination Hotels & Resorts, and brings nearly 30 years of hotel and resort operations experience to her new position at Terranea, including 15 years spent solely in resort community development, operations and real estate. Most recently, Haack has overseen the $100 million redevelopment of Destination's Wild Dunes Resort - a 1,600-acre luxury resort and gated residential island community on Isle of Palms near Charleston, S.C.

In Haack's new role, she will manage overall operations of the firm's new Terranea Resort, which is being developed by Lowe affiliate, Lowe Destination Development.

She will be a tremendous asset to our team as we create Terranea Resort, the only true luxury destination resort along the coastline of the Pacific Ocean in Los Angeles County," said Robert J. The resort boasts a prime location along the Palos Verdes Peninsula and is the only destination resort of its kind on the ocean in the Los Angeles area. Located only 15 miles south of Los Angeles International Airport, Terranea will comprise a 360-room oceanfront resort hotel with 34 suites including a 1,800-square-foot Presidential Suite, along with 50 three-bedroom Casitas and 32 two- and three-bedroom Villas. Terranea's Casitas and Villas are being offered for sale.

Terranea will offer more than 63,000 square feet of indoor meeting and event space including an 18,000-square-foot ballroom with 31 meeting rooms for social and business gatherings. A variety of outdoor venues provide more than 75,000 square feet of terrace and lawn space with breathtaking views for meetings, weddings and social events. The property also includes a 26,000-square-foot destination spa, a nine-hole golf academy, three restaurants and three swimming pools.

Throughout her career, Haack has garnered numerous statewide, national and international awards and accolades. In March 2007, Haack was recognized as "Resort Executive of the Year" by a committee of previous winners and the international marketing firm of Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown and Russell. Los Angeles, Calif. - May 29, 2007 - Andy Anderson, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Destination Hotels & Resorts, announced that Ron Sandvig has been hired as director of sales for the company's new Terranea Resort. The 102-acre luxury resort is situated along the California coastline in Palos Verdes, just south of Los Angeles. The 582-room property is scheduled to open in 2009.

Sandvig brings more than 33 years of hospitality sales experience to Destination. He most recently spent 10 years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide focusing sales efforts on the 76 four and five star hotels and resorts in the company's St. Regis and Luxury Collection brands. During his tenure with the company, he also was regional director of sales for the west coast representing 11 St. Regis Hotels Worldwide and was with the pre opening sales team of the St. Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point, Calif.

"Ron's luxury resort experience in the west coast market is the perfect fit for Terranea," said Anderson. "He has a proven track record selling luxury hotels and resorts on the west coast and worldwide. We look forward to seeing how he translates these skills into successfully launching Terranea."

Prior to joining Starwood, Sandvig held a number of sales leadership positions throughout the southern California market including national sales, group and corporate leisure sales. He began his career in food and beverage while working in Seattle, Honolulu and Marina del Rey, Calif.
