No matter which remodeled room you book, you'll have a 42-inch flat screen, a private balcony looking out on the ocean 20 feet away"and a pair of complimentary earplugs, also for...the ocean 20 feet away. (Or you could book one of the suites with a wet bar and go heavy on the Johnnie Walker.) You'll also want to keep the ocean in mind when booking a table at the restaurant"you want a table by one of the walls of windows that open up, or out on the patio. LAGUNA BEACH, CA; August 2007 - Surf & Sand Resort, a comfortably luxurious hotel that sits only 20 feet from the Pacific Ocean in the heart of famed Laguna Beach, unveils the results of its $6 million renovation. The resort, a JC Resorts property, offers guests the finest in beachfront accommodations as well as unparalleled views of the Pacific Ocean and nearby coastline.

Surf & Sand is the only place of its kind in this area of Southern California, says General Manager Blaise Bartell. Guests here have always had the best views of the Pacific Ocean, and the new look and feel of the property is the perfect complement to the stunning surroundings.

All 165 guest rooms, including 13 suites, at Surf & Sand Resort face the Pacific Ocean, and feature private balconies that let visitors sit back and watch the waves crash upon the shore. The dcor of the spacious rooms is a combination of cream, coral, and sage tones, and each has been outfitted with all new custom furniture, platform bed frames, upgraded linens, new carpet and lighting, increased workspace, and 42 flat-screen televisions, as well as new furniture for the balconies. Splashes Restaurant, which sits in the heart of the four acres that make up the resort, has been completely redesigned to incorporate rich wood tones and furniture with clean, simple lines adding a modern touch. Breakfast and lunch are also available at Splashes, with morning offerings including Caramelized Onion Spanish Frittata ($13) and Citrus Berry Yogurt Flan ($9). One of the few spas to offer such a treatment, Aquaterras massage therapists use all-natural tiger clam shells in a massage and energy treatment. Using elements from the ocean, the shells are heated with an insert created from dried kelp and sea algae, and activated with a mixture of purified water, salt, and lavender essential oils. The shells are then used as massage tools in various deep tissue and effleurage massage strokes to soothe tired muscles. The warm, polished seashells are placed on chakras to release blocked energy, while the heat penetrates into the muscles to help achieve a state of deeper relaxation.
