Earth-friendly and chic, the new Solage Calistoga resort incorporates solar panels, geothermal energy, recycling methods, and self-sustainable landscaping. Bellhops on cruiser bikes escort arrivals to their studios, where two bikes outside each of the 89 accommodations invite exploration of the 22-acre grounds and surrounding Napa Valley wine country.

Two lush mountain ranges form the backdrop for 10,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor event space. Two midsize rooms, Spectera North and South, host groups of up to 80. Solstice, the soaring 3,500-square-foot upscale event “barn,” entertains up to 230. Innovative meeting options share the resort’s eco-chic approach through outdoor adventures, locally sourced wine, sustainable culinary pursuits, and programs at Spa Solage.

The spa upholds a time-honored tradition in Calistoga, which started out as a frontier health spa. Devotees encased in local mineral-rich volcanic mud “cure” on elevated, heated platforms. Meanwhile, therapists perform traditional massage, facials, and other beauty treatments in 14 private salons while the gym, movement studio, and outdoor pool support a full schedule of classes in Pilates, yoga, cardio boxing, spinning, and aqua body sculpting.

Most evenings wind down at Solbar, the centerpiece restaurant and lounge with a decidedly laid-back atmosphere. The room’s casual, artful sophistication flows to a patio serving fine cuisine, comfort food, and Napa Valley wine in the glow of a 20-foot-long fire and water fountain.

Welcoming, amazing, unique, fun - just a few words to describe Solage Calistoga.  Combine that with outstanding service, fine cuisine, delightful staff, and comfortable accommodations, and I’ll keep coming back.

The grounds, guest rooms, and public spaces are great. If you\'re looking for a casual yet upscale property for your next meeting or incentive gathering, this is ideal as the overall ambiance is very relaxed and friendly... not stiff at all. The spa is phenomenal, probably my favorite part of the resort. The beach-cruisers provided for guest use are a lot of fun too. I also loved the fact that the whole resort is pet-friendly (not every room is pet-friendly, but they have designated pet-friendly rooms) so you can bring your dog with you everywhere you go.

We had a small incentive trip at Solage and everyone loved their stay. Especially with its location in Napa, we took advantage of all the wine offerings and did some tastings as well as some group cooking classes. Everyone had a wonderful time and we look forward to coming back again!

Casual Gathering Place for Drinks and Dining in an Indoor/Outdoor Setting

CALISTOGA, CALIFORNIA " Solbar, the centerpiece restaurant at the Solage Calistoga resort, offers a new interpretation of wine country cuisine in a decidedly relaxed environment. Open to resort guests and visitors of the Napa Valley, the stylish and inviting bistro showcases the talents of rising chef Brandon Sharp in a contemporary indoor-outdoor setting.

We are excited to introduce Solbar and bring something entirely different to Napa Valley " a comfortably cool environment where people can relax, unwind and let time slip away as they enjoy great conversation and great food, said Richard Hill, General Manager of Solage Calistoga.

Leading Solbars culinary team is Executive Chef Brandon Sharp, whose pedigree includes tenures at Michelin-starred Gary Danko in San Francisco, Restaurant August in New Orleans, and the world-renowned French Laundry in Napa Valley. Sharp offers a dichotomous menu of healthy and nourishing sol food side-by-side with down home comfort food. Signature first bites include HearthBaked Sea Salt Flatbread Served with Four Sol Spreads and Agnolotti of Homemade Ricotta Cheese Tossed with White Corn, Brown Butter and Forni Brown Spinach and entrees, such as Gently Cooked Pacific Halibut with Baby Spinach, White Corn, Sweet 100 Tomatoes and Basil and Beef Shortribs Stroganov with Egg Noodles, Horseradish and Maitake Mushroom.

Food and Beverage Director Matthew Brown, formerly of Bungalow 44 and Buckeye Roadhouse in Mill Valley, California, assembled a wine list that complements Sharps regionally inspired seasonal cuisine along with the largest champagne list in the Napa Valley. He also created a selection of signature cocktails with fresh juices and local herbs and spices including the Hanalei Sunset featuring fresh ruby red grapefruit and the Ginger Strawberry Mojito made with fresh ginger and local strawberries.

San Francisco design firm Dowling Kimm Studios, former protges of Michael Graves, created a social setting that redefines what you expect to find in wine country. Lofty ceilings, large sliding glass doors that open to panoramic views of the Palisades Mountains, and a warm color palette inspired by the local landscape, give Solbar an atmosphere of contemporary, casual sophistication.

The 125-seat restaurant features earth-friendly interiors including tabletops made from reclaimed Douglas fir, sustainable wool and leather upholstered lounge furniture, and low-VOC paint to eliminate the harmful gases emitted by most conventional paints. The restaurant and lounge flows onto an outdoor patio offering al fresco drinks and dinner in the glow of a 20-foot fire pit.

Solbar is located at Solage Calistoga, an 89-room design-focused, environmentally conscious resort featuring a full-service spa offering treatments with a playful twist on Calistogas historic mud bath tradition as well as exclusive Kate Somerville facials, and a 130-foot swimming pool surrounded by cabanas. Designed by renowned Napa Valley architect Howard Backen, Solage Calistoga interprets the valleys rural heritage in a fresh style described as Napa Barn meets San Francisco loft. The resorts spacious rooms and suites " known as studios " were designed by Dowling Kimm Studios and feature open floor plans, warm color palates, stone showers with pebble flooring and contemporary furnishings. Perfect for couples, families, or groups, Solage Calistoga is a stylish yet welcoming destination.

Solbar is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For more information or to make a reservation, please call 866-942-7442. The address is 755 Silverado Trail, Calistoga, Calif.
