A star was born when SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills opened in fall 2008 as an entirely new paradigm for a luxury hotel. Designed as a spacious loft, the hotel lobby resembles a private club and features individual lounge areas for check-in, a bar, and additional spaces for dining.

(Los Angeles, CA - Spring 2009) - SBE's SLS Hotel at Beverly Hills, a Luxury Collection Hotel, officially debuts its own unique spa concept, the Philippe Starck-designed Ciel - Spa at SLS. The 5,000- square-foot, full-service spa and salon is a pampering retreat for Angelenos and hotel guests alike, providing the perfect complement to the SLS experience, which offers a new paradigm in luxury hospitality. Designed by Starck with an unerring eye for luxury, comfort and state-of-the-art technology, Ciel emphasizes highly intuitive and personalized service in a soothing yet playful setting. Evocative of a celestial dreamscape, guests will feel relaxed and at ease among the warm white tones and billowing curtains, while delightful discoveries surprise throughout the space. The co-ed lounge will serve as an ideal place to relax and socialize both pre- and post-spa experience. Refreshing and healthy savories will be offered in the lounge, created by acclaimed chef José Andrés exclusively for Ciel. Ranging from spa tapas like Josè Andrès gazpacho and watermelon-tomato seed skewers to decadent cava mimosas and chocolate-strawberry pipettes, spa fare at Ciel will be far from commonplace.
The spa rooms at Ciel will be unique environments equipped with music, lighting and technology options that allow spa therapists to set the mood for each treatment and guest preference. Each spa room will be an intimate haven equipped with luxuries like an experience shower and armchairs for foot bath rituals, as well as iPod docking stations, allowing guests to personalize the soundtrack of their massage experience, and custom spa beds with Acoustic Sound Resonance Therapy, allowing a symphony of scents and sounds to resonate throughout the entire body. Among the various spa rooms, two luxurious couples' suites will top the list, with one featuring side-by-side massage tables and Philippe Starck-designed soaking tubs and the other designed for decadent body treatments, featuring side-by-side treatment tables and an experience shower for two.
Offering a full menu of traditional, innovative and signature services, Ciel provides a highly personalized guest experience complete with individual spa valets and concierges, professional skincare consultants and a superlative team of spa therapists. The dynamic menu of spa services is filled with ritual and individual choice, including a selection of custom aromatherapy blends, results-oriented facials, rejuvenating body treatments and massage therapies that lead guests through a process of rediscovery and renewal. Ciel signature treatments include diverse choices, from a Soul to Soul synchronized, intimate massage for two to a Revive treatment for the frequent jet-setter to an Organic Sunless Tan for a natural, red carpet-worthy glow.
A partnership agreement between Ciel and acclaimed hair guru, Cristophe, allows guests of Ciel exclusive salon and styling services from an icon in sophisticated and innovative haircare. Additional amenities at Ciel include a private women's serenity alcove and locker rooms with steam and experience showers. Full massage and treatment services will be available in SLS guestrooms as well as in private cabanas at the pool deck.
The boutique product lines for Ciel rate among the latest and most buzz worthy cult favorites on the market.
