Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort Los Cabos

Los Cabos, Mexico (September 2, 2009) - The Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau is pleased to announce today that the destination was spared significant impact from Hurricane Jimena. Hotels and resorts are fully operational and all tourism services throughout Los Cabos have resumed today.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Jimena was officially downgraded to Category 2 status overnight as it traveled in a northwest direction away from Los Cabos. Additionally, the Mexican government has discontinued the hurricane warning for the entire southern part of the Baja California peninsula, the location of the resort destination. Forecasters predict that Jimena will continue to weaken as it moves inland.

From the beginning, the Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau was well prepared for the approach of Hurricane Jimena. The municipality of Los Cabos did not lose electricity throughout the duration of the storm and there have been no reports of injuries. Additionally, the San Jose del Cabo International Airport (SJD) has re-opened after flight operations were temporarily suspended yesterday as a precautionary measure. The Port of Los Cabos is scheduled to re-open today after 12:00PM MST.

"While we were well prepared for the storm, we are obviously very relieved that Hurricane Jimena passed us by," says Gonzalo Franyutti, President of the Los Cabos Convention & Visitors Bureau, "Now our guests can resume their vacations and our fine resorts services without further concern."

Acapulco, Mexico, March 30th, 2009 - Chef Volker Romeike of Pitahaya Restaurant and chef Stefan Bunning of De Cortez restaurant, both located inside the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Golf & Spa Resort Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, received today in Acapulco, the special recognition of the 5 diamonds award from the American Academy of Hospitality Science by hands of his president, Sr.Ulrich Schwartz.

Chef Volker Dusseldorf has a wealth of experience gained throughout his work as a gastronomic destination in Hawaii, Puerto Rico and California. Volker has been at Sheraton Hacienda del Mar since its opening, bringing the name of the Pitahaya restaurant and Los Cabos on the target of the international map.

Pitahaya´s cuisine is based on the "Pacific Rim"; a fusion cuisine from the Far East countries and markets bordering the Pacific Ocean. Pitahayas this year has been awarded 5 diamonds by the American Academy of Hospitality Science. This award is recognition of the amount that AAA has awarded since 1999 for eleven consecutive years.

De Cortez Restaurant offers an extensive Mediterranean and Mexican fusion cuisine and receives the first prize of 5 diamonds from the American Academy of Hospitality Science. Among the chef's Stefan Bunning gastronomic events, on March 19th held a special dinner inspired by Brazil cuisine in which consisted of five times with two Inputs options, a Soup, Sorbet, three hot dishes and two desserts, based the perception of different culinary regions of Brazil.

The dinner called BOSSA NOVA DELIGHT was at De Cortez restaurant enlivened with live music by Dalin Jones Group interpreting the classics of "Bossa Nova", rhythm also known as "Brazilian Jazz".
