A haven within a haven, the all-suite Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana introduces groups to Cap Cana, a new gated development on the Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana coast. Designed to host the world’s most discriminating visitors, Cap Cana’s first hotel claims a prime spot overlooking the Caribbean Sea and adjoins the first of five planned golf courses: Punta Espada, a Jack Nicklaus Signature course and a memorable stop on the PGA Champions Tours of 2008 and 2009.
Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana’s layout imagines an early colonial village by the sea—complete with Fortress, Tower, and underground tunnels to keep operations from disturbing the guests. Each building has a distinct size and shape and yet matches the others with stone-lined exteriors, trickling fountains, and colorful landscaping. Guests arrive to find a hushed atmosphere, chilled towels, iced water with mint, and a Caribbean breeze wafting through the Mediterranean-style lobby.
A similar atmosphere complements contemporary furnishings in the suites, where guests unwind in up to 5,550 square feet of luxury-laden space. Groups of up to 500 meet and socialize in a state-of-the-art ballroom, conference hall, and six breakout rooms. But they also share access to the beach and five pools, eight restaurants and 11 lounges, and a casino and European-style spa. Cap Cana’s marina and golf course contribute additional attractions, while all of Punta Cana poses endless possibilities for exploration and discovery on the Dominican Republic’s easternmost tip.

We went there knowing that this resort was still under construction so we were expecting it to have room for growth. We have stayed in other resorts that has been in operation for years and they still need to work on certain issues. With this all in mind, our overall experience was wonderful.
We found that the staff there was very accommodating to our needs. They were also very friendly from the top management down to the grounds keepers. Carlos and AnaBelle are just two front guest staff that made us always feel welcome, they also made sure that if we left \"The Sanctuary\" that all our needs were taken care before we left.
We found that the food was always fresh and very tasty. Our breakfast was something that we looked forward to each morning because of the quantity and quality of the food and service. The Blue Marlin Restaurant had excellent fresh fish, beautiful scenery and a great wait staff.
Our room had a large living room with an ocean view, a bathroom that was large with a relaxing atmosphere, the bedroom was very roomy with a king size bed and an ocean view that was just BEAUTIFUL. The beach was right out off our deck, so romantic.
We left the resort to go and play one of the most scenic golf courses that we have ever seen. Every hole had an ocean view that was so stunning. Even if you don't play golf, you need to go and have a look around. This is where the Senior PGA Golf Tournament has been played for the last couple of years. Watching the tournament is what sold us on going there and staying at The Sanctuary and we are glad we did. We are hoping to go back before the end of the year to stay at The Sanctuary again.
