Seasoned travelers recognize the unmistakable imprint of luxury at the Se San Diego Hotel, a sophisticated new property in the heart of San Diego’s financial district. The interiors infuse Pacific Rim aesthetics equally suited to high-end incentives and corporate events.

Within the soaring 23-story glass-and-steel structure waits a one-of-a-kind experience inspired by sensual pleasures. A 900-pound bronze door pivots open to the lobby, where black ebony columns, Shanghai pavers, Nepali carpets, and sumptuous upholstery infuse the public areas with the serenity of the Far East. A floating staircase and wall-spanning art installation add an urban edge to the lobby’s Asian-inspired vibe.

Multicultural comforts continue in the 184 guest rooms and suites, which feature Brazilian walnut floors, Zen-inspired furnishings, Jerusalem-stone baths, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The yin and yang of light and dark, smooth and rough, soft and sleek set off the meeting and event space as well, from the ballroom’s soaring ceiling, expansive windows, and a three-story atrium to a boardroom, screening room, recording studio, and six versatile breakout rooms.

Meanwhile, The Se Spa combines indulgent treatments with the aesthetic influence of the Silk Road. The spa experience aims to impart the ultimate in balance and focus. High overhead, an Asian-inspired rooftop terrace extends the philosophy with an infinity-edge pool, pool bar, lounge beds, and private cabanas.

The Se is stunning! They've done a beautiful job not only with the impeccable modern and Asian influenced design of the property, but the personalized service. From the moment you arrive, the staff anticipates every need you may have. The valet staff walks you into the lobby where you take a seat in their comfy lobby furniture and wait for the front desk to approach you for personalized check in. They also greet you with cucumber water in a champagne glass if you happen to be thirsty.

Although I did not experience a meeting here, I could tell from the site visit, they are very creative and accommodating with their meeting space. My room was so cozy and roomy, I didn't want to leave for dinner. The setting is in the middle of downtown San Diego offering so many great restaurants, shopping and Petco Park steps away from the hotel. Look forward to another visit soon!

SAN DIEGO - December 23, 2008 - Today, Fifth Ave. Partners Llc., owners and developers of the hotel, Setai San Diego, are proud to announce that beginning Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 the property currently named Setai San Diego will be renamed S San Diego.

The Setai Miami is currently owned by Lehman Brothers. Due to the uncertainty of this ownership, Fifth Ave. Partners Llc. determined that a new hotel name and brand would be best for its development.

The developers believe the meaning of the Chinese word S " colour, look, quality; expression, sensuality and physical attraction - better represents the level of design, art and experience that will be unique to the San Diego property and long-term vision of the company.

The creation of the S hotel brand also supports the owners desire to have complete freedom to independently create and manage their investments. Fifth Ave. Partners Llc. are currently in advanced planning stages for additional S hotels in the Western US and internationally.

S San Diego is a 184-room premier luxury hotel located in downtown San Diegos financial district. The property features world-class amenities including rooms with 180-degree views of city, ocean and bay, Luxe Suites with full Italian kitchens and balconies, a sleep concierge and in-room captain service. UniFocus Business Intelligence Brings Together All Survey Analytics

DALLAS-DECEMBER 10, 2008 - UniFocus, a global pioneer in the hospitality industry for performance, workforce management and feedback solutions, announced a new partnership with Setai San Diego to utilize the firms suite of business intelligence tools. The new 184-room premier luxury hotel chose to partner with UniFocus because of its proven track record for correlating survey results from guests, employees and meeting planners; and factoring in mystery evaluations to produce meaningful knowledge that can measurably drive profitability.

The UniFocus survey tools that Setai San Diego will be utilizing include GUESTScope, MEETINGScope and STAFFScope. Feedback outcomes from guests, meeting planners and staff are analytically correlated to generate actionable information and then juxtaposed against mystery evaluations with SERVICEScope to compare standards with actual perceptions. Together these systems create integrated business intelligence and can also be augmented with UniFocus performance analysis and action-tracking technologies.

Setai San Diego opens this month; the 23-story steel and glass structure includes 37 suites, three penthouse suites and 20,000 square feet of event and meeting space, a world-class spa plus many other lavish amenities. Part of the Preferred Hotel Group, Setai San Diego intends to bring the beauty, sophistication and experience of the world's most luxurious contemporary hotels to downtown San Diego.

We are delighted to announce our new partnership with UniFocus, said General Manager Craig Waterman. Setai San Diego offers discerning guests and business-savvy meeting planners the highest standards in service, event space, design and amenities. We want to ensure Setai San Diego delivers on its promise by collecting the most reliable business intelligence about our associates, guests and meeting planners.

UniFocus developed its feedback technologies for guests, employees and meeting planners so that each component can be utilized separately and benchmarked or used together as an integrated business intelligence solution. Information is created from survey analytics in an easy to understand and actionable format. A unique mystery evaluation process provides additional clarity into how service standards relate to employee attitudes and guest satisfaction, examining dimensions of service such as knowledge, communication, timeliness or quality.

We are excited about our partnership with Setai San Diego to help them fully engage their associates to wow their guests and meeting planners, said Mark Heymann, President and CEO of UniFocus. Many of our clients understand that a dazzling experience hooks guests and keeps them coming back. Its often not enough to hit your service standards, because you may not be impacting perceptions enough to create rock-solid loyalty.

Our survey analytics can be correlated with mystery evaluations so that hoteliers make the connection between standards and perceptions, providing revealing insight, Heymann continued. Then by sharing this actionable knowledge across the organization you can involve your staff to make the kind of impressions on guests and meeting planners that inspire them to recommend and to keep returning as loyal customers.

UniFocus loyalty management systems include:

* GUESTScope "one of the most advanced survey technologies available for gathering and evaluating guest feedback with questions designed to increase response rate. Assessment of value based on the impact of rate or length of stay, coupled with other key drivers of satisfaction, enable you to maximize the guest experience and ensure high levels of intent to return/recommend.
* STAFFScope "a scientifically developed system of gathering, analyzing and acting upon critical staff issues utilizing short, straightforward questions. STAFFScope allows you to correlate survey results with guest feedback and triangulate attitudinal, behavioral and demographic factors to effect positive change that re-engages your staff for improved performance and loyalty.
* MEETINGScope "the most advanced system available for gathering critical meeting planner feedback during the entire event process, from start to finish. Its analytical database clearly shows your strengths and weaknesses, enabling you to align the right staff with the right meetings"and beat the competition.
* SERVICEScope "a relational system developed by UniFocus that utilizes the industrys most qualified certified evaluators and technologies to find out how service standards relate to perceptions and how employee attitudes impact service delivery and guest satisfaction.

Suite & Tender Restaurant Opens in San Diego: THE Chic New Dining Destination from Chef Christopher Lee and Designer Dodd Mitchell

SAN DIEGO (December 15, 2008) -- This December, San Diegos Gaslamp District will welcome the new destination for the best in dining and nightlife. Suite & Tender, opening in the glamorous Setai San Diego Hotel, will feature the cuisine of James Beard Award-winning Chef Christopher Lee. Suite & Tender will be the scene for locals and travelers alike.

The Dining Experience
The food and atmosphere will be a softer, more sophisticated take on the typical steakhouse.

We are creating a dining experience based on each guests personal taste and desire. Most restaurants put restrictions on preparations and portions. We want our guests to decide, explains Kelley Jones, managing partner. The concept for the dining experience is based on gastro-tourism, where travelers and diners alike have the chance to create an experience that is completely unique and their own. Our mantra at Suite & Tender is always the answer is yes, what is the request?

To create the menu, Chef Lee considered the citys oceanfront location and the communitys appreciation of healthy living, organic produce and the freshest local seafood. Im very excited to bring my culinary perspective to such a dynamic establishment as Suite & Tender, said Lee. The opportunity to work with such fresh ingredients, harvested, caught, or grown locally, is always inspiring. Im looking forward to applying my version of sophisticated, New American cuisine to this gorgeous location in the Setai San Diego.

As part of the gastro-tourism concept, Suite & Tender will be based on choices and moving away from restrictive restaurant standards and rules, creating a personal journey for the guests. This begins with the menu and continues throughout the dining experience with a series of unique choices.

The menu is divided between Ocean, Land and Suite & Tender, which is a more unique version of the classic surf and turf. Signature menu items include a Create your Own Raw Bar with choices of oysters, shrimp, king crab, lobster tail, stone crab and clams all individually priced per piece, Wagyu Beef Sliders, Duck Confit Gratin, Braised Pork Belly vs. Diver Scallop, Alaskan King Crab vs. Veal Tenderloin and classic steak choices including Japanese Kobe Beef.

Unlike any other restaurant in San Diego, Suite & Tender will offer a wine selection beyond comparison that allows guests to sample various wines from a distinguished American-focused wine list, and create their own flights, deciding between a sip, a taste or a bottomless glass.

In line with the gastro-tourism theme, the restaurant will also offer tableside cocktail service, where signature cocktails and spur of the moment combinations are created for each guest based on personal taste and the fresh ingredients of the day. An additional touch that embodies this passion for flexibility includes the custom knife service, allowing diners to select a knife that feels best in their hand.

Chef Lee, who formally trained at San Franciscos California Culinary Academy, worked at Jean-Georges and Daniel before being hand-selected to be the Chef de Cuisine at the Striped Bass in Philadelphia. During this time he was recognized as a 2005 Rising Star Chef of the Year by the James Beard Foundation and a Best New Chef for 2006 by Food & Wine magazine, and Gourmet Magazine named the Striped Bass one of the 50 Best Restaurants. Since taking over the kitchen at Gilt in the Palace Hotel in New York, Lee has led the restaurant to be one of seven restaurants in NYC to receive two Michelin stars from 2009 edition of the lauded culinary guide.

Design
The attention to detail and vibe transcends throughout the restaurant and bar. Designed by renowned interior designer Dodd Mitchell, known for creating the concepts for The Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Cabo Azul in Mexico, Sushi Roku, Katana and Dolce in Los Angeles (to name a few), the interiors incorporate Mitchells signature style: pulling design elements from mother nature, using all natural materials, intertwined with a downtown edge befitting the Gaslamp district.

There is a living green wall opposite a stingray bar with a see-through fireplace into the lobby and columns resembling a haute couture womans dress made of custom made tiles in the bar area. The restaurant is a space created for comfort and intimacy with a certain sex appeal. Organic shell curtains cascade from the second floor restaurant to the bar area below, combining the two spaces and evoking a contrast between the true organic form inspired by nature and solid materials such as edgy steel elements made by artisans.

Management
Suite & Tender is owned and operated by STFB, LLC with Kelley Jones and Tony Angotti as Managing Partners with Fifth Avenue Partners, LLC, the owner of the Setai San Diego. Jones, whose background in hospitality includes opening five of the top 100 grossing restaurants in America, specifically sought the partnership and management expertise of Tony Angotti, who most recently excelled as VP of Food and Beverage at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Between the two of them, they have opened more than 75 restaurant and nightlife destinations and worked with almost every notable chef of late, including Alain Ducasse, Morimoto, Joel Robuchon, and Tom Colicchio.

About Setai San Diego
The Setai San Diego is a 184-room premier luxury hotel with ultra-chic, world class amenities including rooms with 180-degree views of city, ocean and bay, luxe suites with full Italian kitchens and balconies, a fleet of luxury cars for airport transfers and personal shuttles, a sleep concierge consultation for all guests and in-room captain service.
