GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND (July 1, 2009) - Radisson® Hotels & Resorts today announced the addition of the Radisson Our Lucaya Resort, Grand Bahama Island, a 740-room landmark resort located in the heart of Grand Bahama Island. The AAA four-diamond oceanfront resort was converted to the Radisson brand, establishing Radisson's presence in the Bahamas and strengthening the brand's impressive resort portfolio in the Caribbean. Radisson currently operates two world-class resort properties in Aruba and St Martin.
The Radisson Our Lucaya Resort, Grand Bahama Island is owned by Hutchison Lucaya Limited, a subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa Limited, based in Hong Kong. The resort is managed by Harbour Plaza Hotel Management Limited.
To celebrate the new affiliation, the hotel is offering a special $139 per night rate (plus taxes and fees) that includes green fees at either of the resort's premier, championship golf courses, good now through Sept. 7, 2009.

Abdel Zouari Appointed to Oversee Grand Bahamas Largest Resort Property
GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND, The Bahamas " The Our Lucaya Resort on Grand Bahama Island announced today the appointment of Abdel Zouari as General Manager. In his new role, Zouari will oversee the day-to-day operations of the $450 million, 377-acre resort community, which includes both The Westin and Sheraton Grand Bahama properties.
With more than 24 years of hospitality experience, Zouari brings an extensive background in resort and hotel management to Our Lucaya. Most recently, he served as General Manager for the Orlando Sun Resort and Convention Center, where he oversaw the reopening of the 947-room property. Earlier in his career, Zouari served as General Manager and then Regional Director for Club Med, Vice President of Operations for both the island and Mediterranean divisions of Allegro Resorts, and General Manager for the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND, The Bahamas " According to the Ypartnership/Yankelovich National Leisure Travel MONITOR, a nationwide study measuring consumer travel preferences, approximately two-thirds of leisure travelers use the Internet to gather travel information. To accommodate todays tech-savvy consumers, the Our Lucaya resort on Grand Bahama Island, in cooperation with The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, has launched a series of online videos, called Webisodes, to showcase the destination as well as the resorts two properties, The Westin Grand Bahama Island Our Lucaya resort and Sheraton Grand Bahama Island Our Lucaya resort.
Nearly 70 percent of travelers cite property images as an influence in decision making, according to the Ypartnership/Yankelovich study. Recognizing this demand as well as the increased level of competition within the ever-growing world of online vacation planning, Ypartnership, which also serves as the hoteliers agency of record, produced thirteen, minute-long videos to highlight the unique aspects of Our Lucaya, not only for consumers but also for journalists, travel agents and tour operators.
Episode topics range from weddings and meeting facilities to nightlife and entertainment, water sports and nature tours. In each segment, viewers hear first-hand from on-island experts and first-time guests while witnessing the look and feel of a truly idyllic paradise.
