Avinguda Diagonal, one of Barcelona’s most iconic avenues since 1859, cuts the city in two diagonally from west to east. Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel’s location just off the avenue ensures guests easy access to any part of town via metro, tram, bus, or taxi. At the same time, it centers one of Barcelona’s most exclusive residential, financial, and shopping districts—a block from the Royal Palace and two blocks from FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou football stadium.

The immaculate lawn and formally suited doorman, together with the massive marble-clad lobby, signal luxury from the moment guests step foot on the property. Built with business in mind, the Princesa Sofia ranks as the largest hotel in town with 500 guest rooms and over 21,500 square feet of meeting space. Highlights among the 28 rooms for events include the Catalunya Room for up to 1,200 delegates on the ground level and the Top City Room for up to 200 on the nineteenth floor.

Guest amenities range from marble baths and Wi-Fi for everyone to four floors of VIP lodgings; an indoor pool, spa, and fitness center; Mediterranean cuisine at the restaurant Contraste; and a nutritionist-designed menu at IQ-Smart Fresh Food. For guests in town from April to October, the hotel adds a novel twist: a Bavarian biergarten on the terrace complete with Erdinger Weissbier, bratwurst, pretzels, and traditional German music.
