San Francisco, CA " (April XX, 2008) San Francisco will welcome an exciting and stylish new concept in social food and cocktails with the opening of Level III this June in the newly transformed JW Marriott San Francisco. Perfectly located in the heart of Union Square, the chic restaurant and lounge will feature a menu of delicious sharable plates crafted from the freshest, local, seasonal ingredients complemented with an extraordinary cocktail menu custom-created by acclaimed local mixologist H. Ehrmann.
Situated on the third floor lobby level of the hotel, the mood in Level III will change dramatically over the course of the day. Light and airy and more subdued in the morning and afternoon, Level III offers an ideal spot for a meeting over coffee, to cozy up in a quiet corner, or to enjoy a delicious meal with friends. In the evenings when the lights go down, the music turns up-tempo and the bar opens up to showcase the talents of the bartenders mixing hand-crafted cocktails, the restaurant and lounge is magically transformed into a vibrant and energetic gathering place that is bound to become a favorite hot spot for locals and visitors alike. With no walls to define the physical space, Level III offers a variety of experiences custom-tailored to the wants and needs of the individual guest. A communal table welcomes those guests who are there to be social and meet new people, while a wide variety of comfortable high and low seating options allow other guests to create their own dining experience"whether in the main restaurant and lounge or in a private nook behind the privacy of a flowing curtain.
Level III offers a stylish, fun and casually elegant experience that is bound to impress the most discerning of foodies, whether guests choose to share a selection of menu items, or enjoy individual entres for a more traditional approach. The menu, developed by award-winning Executive Chef Ben Mattman, reflects the abundant agricultural resources found in the Bay Area and surrounding regions and is inspired by the creativity and artistic vision he finds within the city. A distinctive array of hand-crafted cocktails and a wine list which highlights the wine regions of Northern California can be enjoyed at the bar which is flanked by a fantastic fireplace, or tableside within the restaurant and lounge.
Designed by award-winning firm BBG-BBGM, this highly stylized concept features an intense palette of blues and yellows in the first floor entry, where a glass elevator takes guests upward into the yellows, oranges, and reds of a flame found in Level III. As guests arrive they will immediately see a beautiful bronze sculpture Joie de Danse, by Elbert Weinberg, which captures four dancers in circular motion and whose movement is central to the space and an integral part of the inspiration behind the design. Through the use of strong vertical elements, including huge marble columns wrapped in resin, dramatic lighting, and the layering of a variety of different materials, the designers have created a fantastic concept that is as beautiful as it is functional.
Level III is located in the 337-room JW Marriott San Francisco in Union Square at 500 Post Street in San Francisco, California. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and brunch on the weekends. Reservations can be made by calling (415) 771-8600 or through the restaurants website at levelthreesf.com.
