InterContinental Montelucia Resort & Spa brought the essence of Spain to Paradise Valley, Arizona, when it opened in November 2008. The resort resides in a neighborhood often described as the Bel Air of Scottsdale, a neighborhood comprised of sprawling, multimillion-dollar estates. Yet just minutes away, guests have access to a thriving fashion district, shopping, nightlife, restaurants, golf courses, and an international airport.

The owner, vision consultant, and architect traveled to Spain, Morocco, and Italy for inspiration on the culture, architecture, and history of the region. The resulting Andalusian and Moorish influences can be seen in the handmade mosaic tiles, archways, vibrant colors, antique doors, custom light fixtures, and other architectural details found throughout the
resort.

The sprawling resort property includes several distinct villages, each with a feel and personality unique to its location on the property. The total of 293 guest rooms include 253 guest rooms, 38 luxury suites, and two 3,000-square-foot presidential suites. All provide private terraces and breathtaking views, and all combine modern technology with handcrafted architectural details.

The resort offers more than 27,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including the 9,216-square-foot Grand Andalusian Ballroom, 4,650-square-foot Junior Ballroom and 16 separate meeting rooms. An additional 70,000 square feet of outdoor event venues capitalizes on Paradise Valley’s ever-agreeable year-round climate.
