MYSPA AT INTERCONTINENTAL MIAMI MAKES ITS GRAND DEBUT
Posted November 18, 2008
An Evening of Beauty and Surprises Made for a Celebratory Event at the Luxe Lifestyle Spa

Miami, FL " (October 30, 2008) mySpa at InterContinental Miami officially launched the highly anticipated luxe lifestyle spa concept in Miami with a stellar VIP grand opening. More than 250 guests gathered for the unveiling of the lavish space. mySpa Director, Laura Kain, along with InterContinental Miami General Manager Jack Miller, welcomed guests to tour the spas facility while spa technicians administered a signature mySpa foot scrub, and a hand, neck and shoulder massage, in the privacy in one of the 10 tranquil treatment rooms. Throughout the evening, South Floridas elite enjoyed hors doeuvres and sushi stations compliments of InterContinental Miami, Veev Mojitos and Kiwi Koolers, energy refreshers and Champagne while entertained with modern beats by DJ Irie.

The event was hosted by a reputed committee comprised of seven-time NBA All-Star Miami Heat center Alonzo Mourning and wife Tracy Wilson Mourning, founder of Honey Shine Mentoring program; Shareef Malnik, founder of The Forge and Shareef Management International; Katrina Campins, founder of The Campins Company and star of the current show Miami Social on BRAVO; famed interior designer Tui Pranich; entrepreneur Peter Gold and philanthropist and socialite wife Kelly Gold; and Gary Shear, owner of Shear Construction & Development and socialite wife Dana Shear.

I am thrilled by the attendance of our Miami locals and distinguished host committee who came out to support the newest addition to InterContinental Miami, mySpa. It is a true feeling of exhilaration to offer our guests an exclusive, well-appointed spa experience, said Jack Miller, InterContinental Miami General Manager. Our spa concept was designed to fit the needs of our patrons, which undeniably substantiates our further commitment to excellence.

As the evening came to a close, Mr. Miller surprised Alonzo Mourning and Tracy Wilson Mourning with a check for $5,000 to benefit Alonzo Mourning Charities and an additional 10 percent of proceeds from appointments booked during the event benefiting the Alonzo Mourning Charities. Adding to the eventful grand opening, three fortunate raffle winners were gifted elaborate spa packages.

mySpa is a private and luxurious retreat: This 15,000-square-foot location specializes in customized massages, facials, body treatments, manicures, pedicures and couples experiences, as well as featuring a full-service fitness studio and retail area with exclusive boutique products, all designed with the express purpose of total escapism.
