Kenneth Ng Named New DOSM For Intercontinental Boston

The InterContinental Boston has named Kenneth Ng Director of Sales & Marketing for the InterContinental Boston. In this role, Ng will lead the InterContinental Boston’s 12 member sales & marketing team, launch new marketing initiatives in 2008 and work to further market the InterContinental Boston as a premier luxury property for both the business and leisure markets.
Ng joined the InterContinental Boston effective January 4, 2008. With nearly 20 years experience in the hospitality industry with specific emphasis on sales, marketing and catering, Ng’s comes to the InterContinental Boston from the Hotel @ MIT, an upscale non-branded Hilton property, based in Cambridge, Mass., where he served as Director of Sales & Marketing since January 2004.
“Ng brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong background in all levels of the sales and marketing spectrum,” says Tim Kirwan, General Manager of the InterContinental Boston. “With Ken stepping into this vital sales & marketing role for our hotel, he will lead the sales and marketing team to continue to position the InterContinental Boston as one of the most sought after luxury hotels in New England for both business and leisure travel.”
Ng began his career at the Stouffer Bedford Glen Hotel in Bedford, Mass., where he worked in catering as the Catering Sales Manager and was subsequently promoted to Assistant Director of Catering. From there he moved to the Westin Hotel, Copley Place in Boston, Mass., where he served as the Convention Services Manager. In 1996, Ng moved to the Renaissance Bedford Hotel in Bedford, Mass as Sales Manager then continued with Renaissance Hotels in St. Petersburg, Fla., where he worked as the Director of Corporate Sales from May 2000 to January 2002. Prior to working at the Hotel @ MIT, he served as the Director of Hotel Sales/Marketing at the Nashua Marriott Hotel in Nashua, NH from January 2002 to January 2004.
Ng holds a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Massachusetts at Amherst in Hotel, Restaurant, and Travel Administration. He is a member of Meeting Planners International, has held his Certified Meeting Professional designation since January 1996 and is a member of Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International. He resides in Merrimack, NH.
