The legendary Pebble Beach Company operates the Del Monte layout along with three more courses nearby: the Links at Spanish Bay, Pebble Beach, and Spyglass Hill courses. Groups find themselves not only in a golfers’ paradise but also ensconced at the largest luxury conference hotel between San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The hotel’s 32 meeting rooms add up to 40,000 square feet, including 10,000 square feet of prefunction space and 19,000 square feet for exhibits. State-of-the-art lighting and audiovisuals, high-speed Internet access, and a staff of consummate professionals ensure productive—and memorable—events of every size and purpose.

The recent completion of a $60-million renovation refreshed all accommodations, including the President’s House, a freestanding four-bedroom home with private pool, kitchen, and living and dining rooms ideal for entertaining. The investment also brought a restyled lobby, TusCA Ristorante, new executive-level Regency Club, and a StayFit@Hyatt Health Club. The newest addition, the brand-new 12,000-square-foot Accista Spa, captures the essence of Monterey in both design and indigenously inspired treatments.

The additions round out such original attractions as golf on the Del Monte course, sunning at two pools, tennis at the racquet club, and unwinding with colleagues at Knuckles Historical Sports Bar—voted the No. 1 sports bar on the Monterey Peninsula five years in a row.

New Accista Spa at Hyatt Regency Monterey
Posted Jun 8, 2009 by Elite News Team
State-of-the-art 12,000 square-foot destination sanctuary will reflect seasonality and cyclical rhythms of natural Monterey

Monterey, CA - May 16, 2009 - The much anticipated gem of the property's $60 million transformation, Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa on Del Monte Golf Course is pleased to announce the new Accista Spa, the resort's $6.5 million luxury spa, which is now open. Positioned to become the ultimate destination sanctuary on the Monterey Peninsula, the 12,000 square foot, state-of-the-art spa draws inspiration from the surrounding vibrant natural landscape, local history, and biological rhythms of the changing seasons, to present a warm, restful ambiance and indigenously-inspired treatments that capture the essence of Monterey.

Inspired by Nature - Taken from the Ohlone's name for their home of Monterey, the concept of Accista Spa, pronounced {"ah-KEY-stah "}, draws insight from the seasonal continuum of nature and the native people's respect for the seasonal rhythm of harvest, rest, renewal and abundance. Gathering from the seas, shore, meadows, mountains and oak groves of California, the Spa's Signature Seasonal Scrubs, Soaks and Wraps feature custom-created spa products and change for winter/spring, spring/summer, summer/fall and fall/winter, in tandem with the region's unique seasonal pattern. Inspired by Monterey's rich growing region, custom blends change with the historical harvest to include local, natural elements of acorn, fennel and artichoke; California poppy and clover; and, horsetail & elderberry. Monterey-centric elements, such as organic seaweed, algae, and marine minerals feature in many treatments. Cleanse, Radiance, Renewal and Rest facial treatments utilize established and esteemed skin care lines, such as SkinCeuticals and Comfort Zone. A complete seasonal immersion, full-day Journey and half-day Pathway packages are designed for cleansing (Harvest), calming (Rest), nourishing (Renewal), and enriching (Abundance).

Designed by Nature - Monterey's colors, seasons, and natural beauty are the foundation of Accista Spa. Virtually 100% custom-created, the spa is designed to draw immediate connection between indoors and outdoors. Featured throughout, four elements of metal, wood, stone, and glass overlap and work off one another, contrasting warm colors, natural textures, and bright sunlight. Large panoramic windows bring the outdoors in, while graceful lines and recessed ceilings create a feeling of spaciousness. Articulated on two floors, Accista Spa is simultaneously contemporary and comfortable, and warm and inviting. The spacious layout presents a variety of distinctive settings - from the quietly convivial Waiting Library, to the hushed tranquility of the Relaxation Room, featuring a unique double-sided fireplace. Photography of local, natural subjects and intriguing contemporary tribal accent pieces provide interest visual contrast, while laminated glass panels with red grass, a signature of Hyatt Regency Monterey Resort, allow natural light to flow through the space.

Notable features of Accista Spa include ten spa treatment rooms - six spacious single-treatment rooms and four couples spa suites. Generously-designed at almost 350 square feet, each boasting warm, natural light, a fireplace and relaxation area for two, and side-by-side massage tables, the spa suites will be the only ones of their kind on the Monterey Peninsula. The specialty Couples Suite, luxuriously-sized at over 500 square feet, also includes a large, freestanding sculptural soaking tub with ceiling mounted tub filler. The spacious full service hair and nail salon, perfect for lively gatherings, features three manicure, four pedicure, and four hair stations, while men's and women's locker facilities each offer custom sauna and steam room. All conveniently located adjacent to the spa, the newly-refurbished outdoor pool and hot tub beckon for a quick swim or soak, while the recently completed 2,000 square-foot fitness facility offers shock-absorbent flooring and an extensive line-up of top-of-the-line Life Fitness exercise equipment. For spa guests awaiting treatments as well as hotel guests resting following a workout and steam, Accista Spa's many welcoming spaces encourage lingering for inspiring rejuvenation or quiet relaxation.

Green by Nature - Particular attention has been given to the use of renewable, sustainable and recyclable products at Accista Spa. Environmentally-conscientious design choices include water efficient faucets, energy efficient lighting and sustainable textiles made of fibers obtained from recycled products. Duro Design cork flooring, one of the most "green" flooring solutions, comprises nearly half of the Spa's square footage. Utilizing an alcohol-based product, The Fire Company's fireplaces burn cleaner and provide environmentally-friendly ambiance. Socially-conscious products and treatments will include the introduction of an entirely organic facial and organic body treatment, in addition to SpaRitual and Alterna products in the salon.
