The opening of Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa marked a newera of sophistication for Clearwater Beach, Florida. This is a new hotel with an extraordinary room product...just beautiful! The food and beverage was very good and the staff in banquets and the conference area were SUPERB. The folks in the conference services offices, the front desk, and some of the other back of house were not as accommodating, however. They are right at the beach, but do not own the beach so it is problematic to try to plan a function outdoors unless you are stories above on a terrace (hotel property). This was not disclosed to us even though our RFP included "Beach Team Building Activity". We are returning to the area soon and have chosen a different property based on our recent experience. My hope is that this property will work out the kinks as I am usually happy with Hyatt properties.

CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. (FEBRUARY 1, 2011) – After nearly a decade of planning and while managing the challenges of the downturned economy and Gulf oil spill, the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa has much to celebrate today, the one-year anniversary of its February 1, 2010 grand opening. The Hyatt’s successful inaugural year as Clearwater’s
newest, beachfront resort included higher than projected occupancy levels and sales goals. The resort additionally received numerous awards, including the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award and the Three Green Keys Award by the Green Key Eco-rating Program. The opening marked only the second time in a quarter-century that a new beach resort was built
in Pinellas County as well as the first time that a waterfront Hyatt hotel was available on Florida’s west coast. In addition, the resort served as the centerpiece of the city’s new Beach Walk, a $30 million revitalization project that has brought a half-mile of world-class shopping, dining and entertainment to Clearwater Beach. “We certainly felt the pressure to exceed what were already high expectations,” said General Manager Brian Kramer. “But with an experienced team, the Hyatt brand and the local community by our side, we raised the bar and helped propel the tourism sector by introducing a

(Oct. 19, 2009) - Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa is proud to announce that a seasoned food and beverage team has been appointed to spearhead the launch of the resort's restaurants along with catering, weddings and special events. The resort is set to open in January 2010 as Clearwater Beach's premier luxury vacation destination.

"We're proud to have recruited an elite team of Hyatt veterans to join us here in Clearwater Beach," said General Manager Brian Kramer. As executive chef, Brad Gillespie will be responsible for developing and executing the resort's overall culinary concept. CLEARWATER, Fla. (Dec. 2, 2009) - Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa, set to open in January 2010, has appointed two more members of the executive team responsible for the operations of the 250-room resort.

Hyatt veteran Erin Henry will serve as rooms executive overseeing guests' first impressions of the resort, including the concierge and front desks, valet and bell services and security. Henry will also manage the housekeeping department. Henry, who began her career 13 years ago at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla., has experience with both transient and extended-stay guests, making her an ideal fit for the resort.

As revenue manager, Gabe Eveland will manage room inventory and monitor all reservations that come into the hotel, working hand-in-hand with the sales and reservations teams. Eveland began his Hyatt career in 2003 as front office supervisor at Hyatt Regency Chicago and, since then, has held management roles at various Hyatt properties throughout the country.
